Message from Dr. Epperson
From our entire staff...THANK YOU to our amazing PTO, families, and business partners for an incredible teacher appreciation week and nurse recognition week! We have been spoiled and we feel very loved and appreciated. It is our pleasure to work with your families each day.
If your current 6th or 7th grade student will not be returning to CMS next year, please email Tina Stringfellow at tstringfellow@mckinneyisd.net
Next week is our largest testing window of the year. Students will have a revised schedule each day of testing. These are the dates and reminders.
May 13: 6th and 7th Math (8th Math Retest/Make-Up)
May 14: 6th and 7th Reading (8th Reading Retest/Make-Up)
May 15: 8th Science
May 16: 8th History
- Please be at school on time each day.
- Please cross reference with your personal calendars to avoid doctor's appointments or other routine appointments on these days.
- Students need to bring a lunch or purchase a school lunch. Please do not deliver lunch due to alternate schedules and class assignments.
- Students should not bring pillows or blankets. This is a day to be alert and do your best.
- Students should get plenty of rest the night prior to an exam.
- Send a healthy snack that isn't greasy or messy.
- Students should eat a protein packed breakfast that will fuel their brains.
- Send your student off with lots of positive affirmations and support.
Happy Mother's Day to all our CMS moms! Have a wonderful weekend.

MISD Registration Nights for RETURNING STUDENTS
MISD will be hosting two evenings where parents can register their RETURNING students for the 2019-20 school year. Computers and registrars will be available to assist with this process. Please bring with you a current Proof of Residence and your “snap code” that you will receive via email the week of July 8.
** These evenings are ONLY for students who completed the 2018-19 school year at MISD. Any students new to McKinney ISD should consult the website for New Student registration dates.https://www.mckinneyisd.net/enrollment/2019-20-new-student-enrollment/
Tuesday, July 16th 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Tuesday, July 30th 6:00 – 8:00 pm
These evening events will be held at Faubion Middle School, 2000 Rollins Street McKinney, TX 75069.Yearly Proof of Residency
In McKinney ISD it is very important that we work to make sure that students are attending school in the appropriate attendance zone, understanding that it can be confusing. In order to accomplish this, we are requiring you provide proof of residence annually to your student's school upon enrollment. Acceptable proof of residence is one of the following:
A copy of a current or previous month utility bill (electric, gas, water) which shows the current usage on it.
A current lease (for 30 days until a utility bill is available). The lease must have the move in date clearly stated.
If you are under contract to purchase a home, a copy of the signed dated contract with the closing date is clearly stated. If the closing date is after September 1 of the current school year, monthly tuition payments shall be made until the closing date per MISD Board Policy.
If you have recently purchased your home, a copy of the closing papers will suffice until a utility bill is available (within 30 days).
If you are living with a relative or friend within the MISD attendance boundaries, an affidavit must be completed and notarized at the school as well as submitting a current utility bill.

Notes from the Nurse
We are finishing 2018-2019 school year STRONG and getting ready to ROCK 2019-2020.
1. If you have a 6th grade student, please make sure your student has all the shots needed for 7th grade.
2. If your student has medicine stored in the clinic, please pick it up before the last day of school.
3. All medicine that is not picked up by May 30 at 4:00 PM will be destroyed.
4. An adult must sign medication out of the clinic. No medicine will be released to students.
5. Please pick up new medication forms for any medication your student will need at school for next year. We start over every year with new doctor’s orders. You will need a doctor’s order for any prescription medications that we give at school.
