Principal's Update
It was great having our students back in the building and getting to meet so many families during Curriculum Night!
Our staff and students are ready for a fantastic year together. I will send out a newsletter every Friday, detailing the many events happening at Oak Prairie. The most current/new information can always be found at the top of the newsletter and regular or older information is down at the bottom.
We are also excited to host our first student council event on September 9th! THE COLOR SPLASH!! See below for details and permission slip.

Cross Country off to a Hot Start!
On Tuesday, Oak Prairie's cross country team participated in their first meet of the season. The boys' team won the three-teem meet against Homer and Bolingbrook Humphrey while the girls' team was second. The team next competes this Saturday at the Beecher invite.
Softball News - Softball off to a Strong Start
The softball team is off to a great start, and they are currently 8-2 with a big won over Summit Hill on Tuesday this week.
Members of the team include:

Baseball News - Back to Back Wins for the Dogs
Four RBI Day for Noah Beltran Seals the Deal in Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs's Victory Over Homer Jr. High
Noah Beltran was bad news for opposing pitchers on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead the Bulldogs past Homer Jr. High 11-5. Beltran drove in runs on a double in the third and a single in the seventh. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the 1st when Dylan Jones homered.
Oak Prairie put up seven runs in the third inning and put the pressure on, lead by singles by Ryne Peterson and Austin Winge, a home run by Jones, and a double by Beltran.
Emmitt Briner was the winning pitcher for Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs. The pitcher allowed three hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Frank Covelli and Kyle Mezyk entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs took the lead late in the game in a 13-1 victory over Kelvin Grove on Monday. The game was tied at one with the Bulldogs batting in the bottom of the third when Noah Beltran singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Oak Prairie secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was driven by walks by Emmitt Briner, Austin Winge, and Ty Larson, singles by Easton Eggert and Winge, by Dylan Jones, and a groundout by Briner.
In the first inning, Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs got their offense started when Eggert drew a walk, scoring one run.
Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs scored ten runs in the fourth inning. Briner, Winge, Jones, Eggert, Briner, and Larson all drove in runs in the frame.
Cooper Dymanus was the winning pitcher for Oak Prairie Junior High Bulldogs. The pitcher went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.
