What's Happening at Park
May WHAP
Principal Message
Dear Park Family,
We are thrilled to announce that we have entered the last month of the school year. As we approach the end of the academic year, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your ongoing support and the hard work of our dedicated students.
Throughout this month, we have been diligently preparing for state and district testing, and we are incredibly proud of the commitment our students have shown towards their academic endeavors.
We are excited to share with you the upcoming fun activities we have planned for the month ahead. One of the highlights will be the eagerly anticipated performance of the choir in the musical production "Gold Dust or Bust." We invite you to join us on May 2nd and 3rd to witness the extraordinary talent and effort displayed by our students.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Your unwavering support has played a significant role in the success of our school community. We are fortunate to have such outstanding students and families like yours.
Looking forward to celebrating our achievements together in the coming weeks.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Lindley
Term 4 Reward Party
Swim Party Information:
Student Attendance Celebration at Springville Recreation Center
We are thrilled to recognize students with 94% attendance during the 4th term with a special outing to the Springville Recreation Center. Students are requested to wear swimsuits under their clothes to school and bring a towel. They will have the opportunity to swim for approximately 1 hour. After swimming, students will dry off with a towel, board the bus, and then have time to change in the school bathrooms. There will be ample supervision provided by faculty, staff, and lifeguards at the pool.
Schedule:
Preschool: Enjoy a fun "water" day at school during preschool hours.
10:00-12:00: Kindergarten & 1st Grade
11:00-1:00: 2nd & 3rd Grade
12:00-2:00: 4th & 5th Grade
Lunch:
All students will receive a sack lunch from school or may bring their own from home. Each group will have lunch at different times based on bus loading schedules for the Recreation Center.
Additional Information:
- Older students will assist younger ones in the pool.
- Please refrain from bringing life jackets or other devises for the pool. We will make sure they stay in the side of the pool that is reserved for them and where they can touch for younger students.
- Students that don't qualify for the reward party will be in the Library with teachers doing some work from class.
Counselor Corner
Park students had their last grade level lesson with Mrs. J on April 24th. We reviewed the emotional regulation coping tools we have been learning about this school year, and in years past. Mrs. J reminded the students of the importance of having a well-stocked Toolbox of Coping Skills. The Coping Tools we have worked on this year are:
-See a Problem, Solve a Problem
-The Mood Meter and Name it to Tame it and then Reframe it.
-Moving from the Downstairs Brain to the Upstairs Brain by using some of the following emotional regulation skills:
- -Tapping
- -Hot cocoa breathing
- -The 5 Senses Mindful Moment
- -Name it To Tame it and then Reframe it
- -The 3 Gifts of Gratitude, Giving and Grace
- -Check Your Story
- - Use Big Deal/Little Deal
This is my last year at Park Elementary. I will start the 2024-2025 school year as the counselor at Salem Elementary. It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Park Family and your lives. I love Park students, staff and families and I will carry a piece of you in my heart forever.
