THANK YOU!
Wow! We are thrilled to announce that our Hughes
Cougars raised $37,752 for our 2023-34 Hughes PTSA Fundraiser!! We are incredibly thankful for your kind support and generous contributions. It has been amazing watching our Cougars work together and continue to exceed the goals we set for them (they surpassed both the $15,000 and $25,000 goals in one week!)!
A big congratulations to our top individual earners! These three students were recognized for their fundraising efforts during Friday's morning announcements. They got to choose either Generation 3 AirPods, $500 Amazon gift card, or $300 Nike gift card.
1. Ilaria Fusetti $1,776
2. Louisa Stewart $1,589
3. Michael McKinney $1,520
The following Advisory classes raised over $2500 and have earned time in a Video Game Truck during school hours (before the end of the school year). The teachers of these classes will receive a $25 gift card. Mr. Hill also will receive a beautiful painting from Jeanie Haselden’s collection since his advisory class was the first to reach $2,500. Way to go!!
- Mr. Hill - 6th Grade $3,524 with 100% Class Participation
- Mr. Burrell - 7th Grade $2,821
- Ms. Sharp - 8th Grade $2,756
- Ms. Couch - 7th Grade $2,645
All students and staff enjoyed a school-wide celebration today, Made in the Shade, for their efforts! They had time outside with a DJ, Common Pops, and outdoor games. The children that participated in the fundraiser also received a little surprise!
Thank you to everyone that has made this fundraiser a success! We are so grateful for the efforts of our fundraising committee - Tait Carpenter, Sarah D’ Andrea, Laura Lane Louie and Tiffany Williams. Also, a big thanks to Mr. Mayes, the Hughes Administration and all of our teachers for encouraging and building excitement with students these last two weeks. We appreciate all of your help planning and coordinating the fundraiser efforts. Thank you for everything!
Please be on the lookout over the next few months for updates on the funds raised being put to work! We have had the best time watching our Hughes community come together to support our students and staff. Thank you!

BIG Fundraiser Update
WOW!! We
are blown away with how fast our Hughes Cougars have met the PTSA fundraising goal of $15,000 in just 3 days! We have had a lot of fun watching them put their minds to a goal and exceed it, but we know our Cougars are always up for a new challenge!
Our NEW goal is $25,000!
We've decided to Level Up our fundraising goal to $25,000 because our PTSA loves to say YES! We love to say yes to Teacher Mini-Grants, Rockstar Lunches, Teacher Appreciation Celebrations, Middle School Dances, Fall Block Parties/Family Fun Nights, Parent Parties, Field Days, and so much more! This year, the funds will also be used to refurbish our basketball courts and add new breakaway rims, installation of a shade structure in the courtyard, and enhancing our outdoor areas/classrooms. When you give to our PTSA, 100% of the money stays at Hughes Academy.
If you haven't had a chance to donate, you can do so here: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/hughesfunds. You can search for a student's name or donate to the main fundraiser page. Don't forget to ask about company matching programs in your workplace! Please know that no amount is too small. Your ongoing support of Hughes is truly appreciated. Cash and checks are welcome and can be sent in with students to their Advisory classes. Checks made out to Hughes Academy PTSA.
Reminders:
