RHHS Wildcats News You Can Use
#WEARERH 4/28/24 #WEARERH
Good Afternoon,
With the end of the year comes comes many opportunities to engage. This week, you should have received your child's schedule for the upcoming school year. As you can imagine, scheduling 2600+ students in 8 different classes is no small feat - if there are particular graduation-requirement concerns please see the message below regarding scheduling specifically. Scheduling is the crux of what makes a school year go round, we are glad to have fantastic schedulers with Mrs. Sonya Compton and Mrs. Meredith Tanner.
As we round out the school year I urge you to continue checking in on your child's grades and attendance through PowerSchool as this is one of the primary forms of communication we use to share updates regarding achievement with parents/students. Should you have specific questions regarding grades and/or assignments please reach out to your child's teacher directly so they can respond in real-time for follow-thorough.
Take your time, read through the newsletter and please feel free to leave any comments or feedback in the form below (Students - this is for you too!). This information is critical as we plan for the year ahead and ensure that we are continuously improving the Richmond Hill High School Experience. I'd love to hear from you directly! While summer may not be the best time to bring people together with vacations and such, if the response is there I plan to conduct another opportunity to meet with stakeholders at a Summer Planned "Mornings with Miller" - just let me know through your feedback (below) if this is a venture you'd be interested in investing your time, effort and energy to make RHHS the very best!
See ya, love ya, bye!
Bivins Miller

2024-2025 Schedules
Tentative student schedules for the 24-25 school year were emailed to both parents and students on Friday, April 26 at 3:00 pm. Please remember that we will continue to work together to ensure accuracy of schedules between now and the start of the next school year. If you have a concern regarding a graduation-required course, a schedule change request link will be active on the school’s website beginning Monday, April 29th. Schedule change requests for electives will likely not be granted, and please note that dual enrollment schedules have not yet been entered. So, if you are a dual enrollment student for the 24-25 school year, please do not complete a request for a schedule change. Also, please ensure that Mrs. Appleton has a copy of your college schedule you’ve received from the college. The schedule change request link will be the only avenue at this time for requesting a change to the student schedule for the 24-25 school year; emails to counselors or administrators will likely not be addressed. Thank you for working with us to ensure we have a successful 24-25 school year!”

GA Milestones
In the state of Georgia, American Literature students are required to take an end-of-course (EOC) test each year that counts for 10% of their final class average. In order to support our students for this assessment, Richmond Hill High School ELA teachers will be hosting American Lit EOC review sessions, which we are referring to as our EOC Bootcamp, consisting of 5 unique sessions leading up to the EOC testing dates of May 6-8.
We invite juniors currently enrolled in American Literature to attend all of the sessions, which are free and designed to provide students with specific practice on tested skills. All materials will be provided for each bootcamp session and will then be shared via Google Classroom, which students and parents will be able to access.
The American Lit EOC Bootcamp schedule is linked in the RSVP form below. Please RSVP by selecting the sessions below that your student will attend.
CURE Crew Council
Applications for next year’s 2024-2025 CURE Crew Teen Council will be open to students starting April 15th – April 30th this year using this link - https://curechildhoodcancer.org/cure-crew/. The application is open to rising Junior & Senior students, and current CURE Crew members do need to re-apply.
The purpose of CURE Crew is to offer high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to support CURE through fundraising, volunteering, advocacy, and awareness of pediatric cancer with the leadership and guidance of CURE’s staff. Students will benefit by earning community service hours by engaging in structured fundraising and service opportunities that will provide them with meaningful life skills and compassion for an underserved population. At the same time, CURE will benefit by having students in the community sharing CURE’s mission and vision.
