County Fair
Animal Vet Check Station
ALL animals must go through the Vet Check Station PRIOR to entering any livestock barn (including horse, poultry, rabbit, etc). The route to the vet check station may not be the same as in years past due to tenative construction. There will be signs that will guide you through the route and to the vet check station. If animals do not go through the vet check station the animal WILL NOT be able to show in their class or be eligible for the market auction.
The Vet Check Station will be open
●Tuesday, July 25th 6:30pm to 8:00pm
●Wednesday, July 26th 7:00am to 1:00pm
Showcasing our 4-H'ers
4-H Performing Arts Showcase!
Saturday, July 29th @ 2:30 under the Big Tent. All Performing Arts 4-H’ers are encouraged to perform.
4-H Fashion Revue!
Saturday, July 29th @ 12:30 under the Big Tent. All Fashion Revue Exhibitors are encouraged to showcase their creations.
4-H Livestock Showcase!
All 4-H’ers showing livestock will have the opportunity to show off their animal to the public in a designated area by the Children’s Barn during the fair. This is a chance to talk to the general public about your animal and what you have learned. Be prepared to talk about how to care for them, how you groom them, why you love your project, or anything else. If the pen is empty, grab your animal and head out there!
4-H Fair Ambassadors
If you are a youth 4-H member in grades 6-12 and are intrested helping with running the Becker County Fair? Contact Elliott at lawre735@umn.edu to join the Becker County 4-H Fair Ambassadors. What do we do?
•Help with livestock shows
•Help with still project judging
•Beautify the fairgrounds
•Learn leadership skills
•Learn communication skills
•And much more!
Fair General Livestock Exhibitor Meeting Questions
The Becker County 4-H Livestock Committee is collecting questions to make the exhibitor meeting Held on the first night of the fair more helpful to the 4-H families exhibiting. We will try our best to address all of the questions.

Each year the fair is a great success BECAUSE OF YOUR HELP! We appreciate all the time that everyone volunteers to make the fair run smoothly.
This year we will need help in the following areas:

If you would like the opportunity to assist a judge or help in any way, please let the 4-H Office know what area you can help with. See the sign up information for Judges Assistants above.
Fair Parking (New This Year)
4-H Families exhibiting animals may purchase a livestock parking pass for $15.00 (1st pass) from the Fair Board Office beginning on Entry Day, Wednesday, July 26. Any other livestock parking passes after the 1st pass can be purchased for $40. This pass allows you to park near the barns and bring feed/supplies to your animals.

State Fair
Attention State Fair and/or State Horse Show Exhibitors
4-H’ers AND a parent are EXPECTED to attend a STATE FAIR MEETING in the 4-H Exhibit Building
What and Why: Information about State Fair, Registration and Payment
Please Bring: Checkbook or cash (no credit cards) and think about transportation and lodging needs (dorm or off-campus)

- FRIDAY July 28 &/or SATURDAY July 29
- Livestock Encampment-Friday @ 4:00 pm
- Non-Livestock Encampment -Saturday @ 4:00 pm
- State Horse Show- Saturday @ 6:00 pm
Adults-Please consider being a chaperone for State Fair! Contact the office prior to this meeting if you are interested or would like more information.
4-H’ers that have completed 6th grade are State Fair eligible. Please check the State Fair Lineup boards in the 4-H Office as soon as possible in order to finalize the list of State Fair Participants!

State Fair Chaperones Needed!
The Minnesota State Fair will take place Aug. 24 - Sept. 4! Local 4-H programs need Minnesota 4-H volunteers as chaperones to support and supervise their assigned delegations during the Minnesota State Fair. Chaperones have additional responsibilities when staying overnight with youth in dormitories. Chaperones must be at least 21 years of age at the time of service and have successfully completed volunteer screening. You must be accepted and enrolled as a Minnesota 4-H volunteer. 2023 State Arts-In registration now open!
This year, State Arts-In will celebrate its 50th anniversary as participants put together a very special show with lots of alumni support and appearances throughout the experience. Youth in grades 9+ can be a part of this community of young adults. They will put together a show, develop new skills, and grow in leadership, teamwork and goal setting. This event will take place on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, Aug. 10 - 17 and Aug. 22 - Sept. 4. $50 discount for registrations completed by June 30! Learn more and register.
Work at the Minnesota State Fair
Have you ever thought about working at the state fair? They hire around 150 employees every year to make the Minnesota 4-H State Fair experience happen. Jobs include food service, maintenance, exhibit assistants, livestock exhibit assistants, dorm staff, activities staff and more!
