Welcome Back
Just a few reminders:
- Remember: everything needs a ticket. If you don't report it, I can't fix it.
- Answers to many questions can be found in our FAQ pages on the Technology Intranet.
- Both PCs & Chromebooks will need several updates during the first week, so please be patient.
- If you aren't using your LCD projector, please turn it off. You'll extend the life of the lamp if you simply turn it off during periods you don't use it.
- "Think before you click."
Updates & Upgrades
There were a few infrastructure updates over the summer, most notably a new battery backup system installed in the Middle High School. Also, most of your desktop PCs received hard drive upgrades.
Looking at this week, there is a major security update for Google Chrome that has been applied to most (but not all) of your desktops, so you may see some changes as this rolls out.
Be on the lookout for "Back-To-School" phishing scams in your inbox. The FBI recently indicated that over half of all reported ransomware incidents targeted K-12 organizations. So be on guard.
Your Google Drive is a hot mess!
For those of us "seasoned" educators who have had Google Drive for a while: Use these tips to clean up your Drive.
