Student Arrival
It is important for your children to be safe when coming to school whether they are walking, biking or riding with you; or on their own. Students should be arriving to school no earlier than 8:20 am as that is when the outside adult supervision is in place. I have noticed students coming without an adult between 8:10 - 8:15 am. That is too early. Please help your child(ren) leave home at the right time when they travel to school, especially if they are going without you, so they do not end up on campus too early. In the Park View Student Handbook it states 8:20 am as arrival time. Thank You!
If your child arrives between 8:31-8:35 am, and the class has already gone into the building, patrols will let students in. Parents cannot enter the building with their children. Students enter on their own and walk to their classroom. Each grade's entrance is close to their classroom. Parents may only enter at Door #1. This is for the safety of all students and staff. If your child arrives at 8:35 am or later, they must enter at Door #1.
Speaking of supervision we do need substitute morning supervisors as well as lunch supervision and we are flexible, meaning it does not have to be a five day per week commitment. Even one day a week helps us out tremendously and being a part of your child's (or grandchild's) school means a lot to your child. They love seeing family members involved at school in any way. Check out this video for more information about these great opportunities that can be customized to fit in your schedule. If interested, fill out the application for the Park View Substitute Lunch/Morning Supervisor position on the SD44 website (under the employment tab); which will be posted next week. Thank you for considering.
Don't forget to call the attendance line at 630-827-4041 before school and leave a detailed message for the health office if your child will be absent.
