Passport Day Information
Please join us on August 25, from 9 am - 5 pm, for our JMS Passport Day. Passport Day is the first opportunity for students to pick up their class schedule and locker assignment. We encourage students to walk through their class schedule and try out their assigned lockers/combinations.
- Students are required to have their photo taken for student ID’s and Yearbook. Students should wear clothing that is appropriate for a normal school day.
- Students will also pick up their Chromebook.
- Jaguar apparel will be available for purchase at Door #1 (cash/check only).
Passport Day is also a great time for families to do the following: visit the JMS Health Office, visit the Jackson Middle School Observatory starting at 10 am, gather Community Education information, sign up for Volunteer Opportunities.
For students who are unable to come to Passport Day, schedules and locker assignments will be available for pick-up at Open House, Tuesday, August 30, 6 - 8 pm. Chromebooks will also be distributed. School photos will not be taken at Open House.

Child nutrition update
School Lunch
Due to a change by the USDA, school meals will not be free for all students in the upcoming school year.
Even if you have been approved for free meals in the past, a new application needs to be filled out each year. To receive free meals or other educational benefits, apply for free meals NOW to be prepared for the 2022-23 school year. To avoid accruing any debt on your students meal account, an application for free or reduced-price meals must be completed before the first day of school.
Please complete an application online or complete and return the paper application that will be mailed to you in early August.
If you have any questions please call the Child Nutrition Program at 763-506-1240.
Media center news
Exciting changes are coming to the Jackson Middle School Library Media Center. The space is in the process of being remodeled to be a welcoming, bright space for the Jackson school community. Construction will not be complete in time for Passport Day and Open House. But, Ms. Legatt, the new Library Media Specialist, will be at Open House to greet the Jackson students and share the excitement of all things media and reading. The new Library Media Center will be a safe space for all students to learn, grow, read, and explore. We look forward to the official opening after the start of the school year. text here.
