Calendar Adjustment - Students in school on April 1
We wanted to remind you to mark your calendars as school will be in session on April 1st instead of the previously scheduled professional development day in order to meet the state attendance requirements. This adjustment was made in response to the Chiefs Super Bowl Parade Day. We understand that this change may impact your plans, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. If your child will not be present on this day, please use our typical absence reporting protocols to report the absence.
Volunteers needed for the SRE Spring Carnival
The SRE Carnival will take place April 12th 6-8pm. We are looking for students to help assist with the games, and are able to fill out volunteer hours if needed. We would love your support getting the word out.

Additionally, students who want to get a jumpstart on their college education can also choose to earn their associate’s degree, along with their high school diploma, as full-time JCCC students during their junior and senior years in high school- at little to no cost to them or their families.
Blue Valley also offers a Fire Science program in collaboration with the Overland Park Fire Department. to offer a pathway for students to earn certifications toward being a firefighter/paramedic.
While these opportunities are a few years away for your student, we know that it is never too early to start planning for your child’s future.
