NACP Parents In the Know
News From Our Principal, Dr. Guerrero
WEEK 9 - OCTOBER 16, 2020
Weekly Message from the Principal
Although, the weather has not changed much since summer (we are still in the high 90's and even in the 100's), in some places around town the leaves are starting to turn from green to yellow, orange and red. This is also the time of year when we tend to start getting a little cozier and when days seem to be a tad shorter. Maybe you've noticed that the kids want to sleep in or they just seem a little more tired. I know some of us are also feeling the change.
For most people, having a set routine makes it easier to go about the day. Even kids benefit from having a set routine. From knowing what time they: wake up and go to sleep, can take breaks, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and must attend class, etc. It also helps to set up a space where kids can join their teachers and peers for class.
Thank you parents for having routines in place that will help our kids succeed in all they do.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely Yours,
-Dr. Guerrero

Distance Learning Questions and Answers
1. Is it OK to eat and drink while using my Chromebook/Laptop? Is it OK to walk around the house while carrying a Chromebook?
-No, it is not OK to do either one of those things. We want every student to be safe and to have a working device, and following all safety precautions will help ensure this.
-Like in a regular classroom, please keep food and drink away from the area where you are using technology (Chromebook, Laptop, iPad, etc.
-Please have your child sit in one place during Live Zoom Class sessions. Walking around the house is distracting to others and can be unsafe.
-Every parent signed a Device User Agreement Form for each device they borrowed from the school
2. What programs, applications and games can I download to my school issued device?
-For safety reasons, no additional programs, apps, and/or games can be downloaded to your child's school issued device.
-Please note, if you are unable to download something to the device and it does go through or you receive an error message, it is because the safety features installed on the Chromebook are preventing that from happening. The device still works.
3. What does the teacher mean when she/he says free of distractions?
-That means that every students need to be in an area where there's minimal distractions to him/her and to the rest of the students in the classroom.
-No Toys
-No Pets
-No Hair Products or Hair Tools
-Stay in one place, avoid walking around the house. Remember it is distracting to other students who are trying to follow the lesson
