BUCCANEER BRAVOS
- BRAVO, MELISSA WATTS & CINDI CABRAL & JEN SIGMUND for volunteering your classes for CTLS-Assess Modeling!
- STANDING OVATION to EVERYONE for bringing the fun this week with Reading Wars!
FROM NURSE CINDY STEUER
We have 3 AED’s located in our school. We are very fortunate. I have placed a staff roster by each unit. It is vital that each of you put an initial next to your name once you have located each individual AED. We do have student’s in the building this year (as well as some staff) that may rely on an AED to save their lives. Thanks for your cooperation with this.
SPECIALS & LUNCH TIMES
Also make sure you are doing the same for lunch.
We run on cell phone time.
Thanks!
EARLY RELEASE PLANS - SHORT DAY = JEANS APPROVED.
For those who teach math - we will begin prioritizing standards in math for 2nd quarter. You will receive guidance. Specific information to follow along with a schedule for Wednesday afternoon.
For our YO People (Counselors, Specialists, Speech, etc.), we will be hosting collaboration beginning at 1:00 pm here @ MBES. Recording forms coming!
PROGRESS REPORTS - COMMUNICATE BY 9/5
Parents can be notified via email, via weekly folder, or via other written notification. Parents should be notified NO LATER than Wednesday, 9/5.
Sample of this communication may look like:
Dear Parent,
The purpose of this correspondence is to notify you that we are half-way through this marking period. At this time, your student has a (C, D, F, 1, N - whatever it is) in the area of ____________________. We will continue to work and provide differentiated instruction in your child's area of difficulty. (If you want to include a statement that reading nightly or spending 5-10 minutes daily practicing math facts or completing assigned homework would help your child, you may do so).
Sincerely,
The Most Awesome Teacher on the Planet
MIE Training Update
Those who expressed interest in being added have been added and necessitated providing only one sub in several of the co-teaching rooms. Please see file below for updates and to mark your calendars.
Thanks to our Foundation for providing almost $12K in funding for this initiative!
Jewish High Holidays
The Jewish High Holiday of Rosh Hashanah falls on Monday, September 10, 2018 and Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, falls on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
Please ensure that you do not schedule tests and assignment due dates on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur, to accommodate the students and their families observing these holidays.
In observing these holidays, students are not able to complete assignments, projects, or study for tests, on these days.
