TURF - CLOSED UNTIL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE
FROM JOHN - IMPORTANT!
- John Maflin is our head custodian who works afternoons/evenings. Gary Wilson works afternoons/evenings, as well.
- Will Hogan is our day person. If you have any maintenance needs that are not an emergency, see Will or email John.
WHO DO YOU CALL/NOTIFY?
- Need an environmental cleanup? Call the office.
- Non-emergency needs - see Willie or email John. ( John.Maflin@cobbk12.org )
WHAT IS JESSICA DIRECTING YOU DO TO KEEP OUR BUILDING CLEAN?
- Have students wipe/scrape shoes upon re-entry into the building. If shoes are super-muddy, leave in hallway.
- Minimize clutter and clean your space. Remove stacks, piles of unnecessary papers, remove unused items, purge regularly.
- Place trash cans outside doors at end of the day daily.
- Stack chairs daily.
- Have students pick up items off the floor daily.
- Minimize lunch in the room, snacks on your rugs, and anything messy.
- We are short handed a half-time person. This means that we are down 4 hours of cleaning per day, so it is all of our jobs to help with all we can.
- Nightly vacuuming.
- Nightly dust mopping.
- Weekly floor mopping as needed.
WHAT IF I HAVE LUNCH IN THE CLASSROOM?
- Stop by custodians' office and get garbage bag. Full bags should be delivered to cafe for disposal.
- NO lunch waste in classroom cans or hallway cans.
- Not tile-floor compliant. Any furniture without county-approved felt tipped "feet" causes damage to wax/tile. Dirt gets in cracks/grooves & discolors floors. Causes floors to appear dirty and can only be fixed with stripping floors in summer. Not outlawing flexible seating, but know that those who use non-felt-tipped seating will have floors that appear dirtier - and there is no solution other than summer cleaning/stripping.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHTS
In order to provide parents with information specific to the school and individual classrooms, we host Back to School Nights at the beginning of the year. - 6:30 - PTA Welcome. Introductions and general information will be announced and homeroom teachers will be dismissed to classrooms. Parents will follow. Time in classroom should be 45 minutes – 1 hour.
- Following PTA, parents report to classrooms.
