Glenealy School Newsletter
3rd October 2019
Message from Chris
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
It seems like no time at all that we were just beginning the half term, fresh from the summer holiday. So much has happened over the past 8 weeks - PTA events, various trips and excursions, parent workshops, meet the teacher, three way conferences, Year 3 Camp, coffee mornings and many other exciting things. Most importantly, the children have settled brilliantly into their new class groups, forming new friendships and approaching their learning in their new year group with great enthusiasm.
After the half term break we have much to look forward to. During the first week back it will be our Book Week - a celebration of all things to do with reading, with an exciting programme in school to support our children. Of note will be the famous Glenealy Book Character Parade! This will be held on Friday 18th October from 8:40 am to 9:30 am. All children can come dressed as their favourite book characters and take part in the parade. Younger siblings, those not yet at the school, are also welcome to dress up and join in if they would like to! Please find more information about book week in the The Library Newsletter.
We look forward to seeing you all at the parade.
We would like to thank the PTA for organising such a successful AGM last week - it was great to see parents there supporting the work of the school. I wish the new PTA committee the very best for the coming year and I am looking forward to working with all parents in partnership over the year. Regarding the PTA, I am also pleased to announce that we will be launching an Art Competition to design a poster for the School Fair this year. Children have the chance to design a school fair poster which will be professionally produced and used to advertise the Fair and displayed all around the site on the day! This is very exciting and we hope lots of children enter the competition. More details can be found below in the PTA section of this Newsletter.
Finally, we would like to wish you all a fabulous half-term break and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 14th October.
Chris

We would appreciate you ensuring that your child is in the correct uniform.
