Who is Green Day?
Green Day is a punk rock band that was formed in 1987 that consists of vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backup vocalist, Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool. They had major success with almost every album they have created, and have also been awarded a People's Choice Award for favorite musical group or band in 2006. They are still making albums to this day, as they just released three albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! in 2011.

Green Day is an openly liberal music group. They transformed the music era by creating a whole new vibe. The made punk music extremely popular along with other groups such as Sublime and Bad Religion. Green Day's most influential album is American Idiot which was released in 2004. It was the first time the band had an album that appeared at the top of the Billboard charts. American Idiot depicts American life under a idiotic ruler where the citizen's were misinformed by media. It gives their opinions about the everyman, modern icons, and leaders. The album was released two months before President George Bush's reelection, which sparked protest. The album became art for protest against President George Bush.
