Conference Schedule
October 4th-15th
Students Dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
Conferences
It's also a great time for you to ask questions or talk about any learning-related concerns. Input in the following areas would be helpful:
- What does your child say about school?
- What are your child's special interests/out-of-school activities?
- Does your child have regular responsibilities at home?
- Is there anything else we should be aware of that may affect your child's performance in school?
Creating a partnership with your child's teacher around your child's learning can make a big difference. Within the next week, your child's teacher will be reaching out to you to schedule a conference. You will have the option of in-person, a phone call, or a virtual meeting. Please make every effort to arrive at your scheduled time.
Should you prefer an in-person conference, the following protocols will be in place:
1. Conference participants will need to wear a mask as soon as they enter campus;
2. Conference participants will need to maintain 6 foot distancing when indoors.
Conferences will be scheduled between 1:45 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. from October 4-15. The early dismissal bell schedule will be followed and all Cheetahs will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
Modified Quarantine
Through a partnership with the California Public Health Department (CDPH) and BayPLS (our District's mobile testing agency), we can offer a modified quarantine option which allows our students to stay in school after exposure to COVID positive contact.
More detailed information about Modified Quarantine can be found on the Croce Website. If this option is appealing to you, please complete the testing registration and consent form. Should a positive COVID case be found in your child's classroom, we will defer to the registration database. If you have pre-registered for Modified Quarantine, you child will be able to remain in school. Otherwise, you will need to pick up your child to begin the traditional 10 day quarantine at home.
We Need You!
Each year the Croce School Site Council holds an election to fill vacancies for parent representatives on the Council. School Site Council members serve a two-year term. Each year we elect parent representatives and the parent representative elected in the previous year continues for another year. This year we have 3-two year parent representative seats available.
The School Site Council (SSC) includes teachers, parents, and the principal. Each group selected its own participants. Teachers choose teachers, parents choose parents. Each school in our district develops a Single Plan for Student Achievement. The SSC plans, implements, and evaluates this plan. The Council also has the responsibility to budget and monitor LCFF funds at Croce.
The Croce School Site Council meets 4-5 times during the school year from 3:00-4:00pm. This year, due to social distancing, our meetings will be held virtually.
Serving on Croce’s SSC is your chance to have a direct influence on your child’s education. You will also learn about the school and meet other interested parents. Your total time commitment for the year will be less than five hours. It’s a small investment of time for a very important role at our school. Become a candidate and let your children and the Croce community know the value you place on education. Please complete this form no later than Tuesday, September 28, if you would like to be a candidate. Elections for School Site Council parent representatives will be held in October.

Reflections
"I Will Change the World by..." is this year's theme for the National PTA Reflections program. Have your artist create original art in any (or all!) of the categories with the "I Will Change the World by..." theme in mind. Artists reflect on the theme to create their original art and describe that connection in their artist statement.
All submissions will be done virtually! Please read the Croce Reflections Getting Started Guide for directions on how to submit.
One student in each category and age division moves on from Leo Croce Elementary PTA to the Peralta PTA regional division. All students get honored and recognized at Leo Croce for their amazing work. It's a great way to recognize your students' artistic abilities!
Questions can be sent to: leocrocepta@gmail.com

Universal Free Lunch
"Our Child Nutrition Department is excited to share that all students, regardless of family income, can receive a daily school lunch free of charge for all instructional days in the 2021-22 school year! While a free and reduced lunch application does not apply this year, completing the Alternate Income Form can result in students qualifying for additional benefits such as Pandemic EBT, scholarships for placement exams, and discounted internet service."
