📢ATTENTION JUNIOR PARENTS!📢
New state requirement for the Meningococcal and Hepatitis A vaccine for all students entering 12th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. The state of Indiana requires two doses of Hepatitis A and a second booster dose of the Meningococcal Conjugate vaccine for students entering 12th grade. These vaccines are a legal requirement for school entry (Indiana Administrative Code 410 IAC 1-1-1) for the 2024-2025 school year.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
- MEDICATIONS: Any student who has medication (Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Allergy meds are included) needs to have a parent pick it up by that last day of school, 5/23/24. If medications are not picked up, they will be thrown out. So please, if you have medication in the nurse's clinic, pick it up before the last day of school!
- IWU ACADEMIC YOUTH PROGRAMS: Wildcat Summer Academy is offering a unique opportunity for students 8th grade thru Juniors to engage in a college-like experience while delving into their areas of interest. The Wildcat Summer Academy provides an immersive learning environment where participants can explore a specific area of interest through one of eleven academic camps. These camps cover a diverse range of subjects, including Nursing, Art & Design, Writing, Forensic Science, Urban Farming, Musical Theatre, Engineering, Social Work, Multimedia Production, Computer Science, and Music Therapy. - MAGGIE NIEMAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND: I wanted to share the link to order t-shirts to support the Maggie Nieman "Wonderifick" Scholarship! Funds raised go into an account to support our Seniors here at MG! Some of the funds will also be shared with our Art Department! - CNA PROGRAM: Any student interested in a CNA Program, please contact Mrs. Hodson this week!
- MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: Enjoy an afternoon of FREE food and fun activities on Friday, May 10th from 5-8pm at The Gardens of Matter Park. Activities include silent disco, art therapy, yoga and much more. Grab a flyer from Student Services!
- THE PARAMOUNT THEATRE SUMMER CAMP: The Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom is introducing 2 new programs, one this summer, the other this fall. Both will serve to pique interest in live theatre, first to understand and experience what is involved in learning and producing a live theatre performance for the stage, and second to attend and enjoy live children's theatre performance by professional companies in the beautiful confines of the Paramount Theatre. From June 17-28, 2024, the Paramount will be hosting its inaugural summer theatre camp. Students ages 10-18 are invited to take part in this for a nominal fee of $150 if registered before May 15th, and $175 if registered after. Each participant will receive all instruction, a tee shirt, and a daily afternoon snack. The session led by accomplished theatrical teachers will take place at the Paramount Theatre, 1124 Meridian St, Anderson, from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. For more info click here
- PRAYER LOCKER: Just a reminder that there is a prayer locker for anyone interested in filling out an index card with a little prayer. It can be for yourself, a friend, family member, neighbor, whoever. Just take a card, write down your prayer and stick it in the slots in the locker. The locker can be found in C Hallway. Locker number 165!
- PARENTS AGAINST VAPING!: Parents against Vaping presents Dangers of Vaping: What Parents Need To Know In 2024. They are offering a FREE Virtual Presentation on May 14th, September 10th, and November 19th. Topics covered will be Understanding and recognize tobacco industry tactics targeting youth, explaining the dangers of nicotine e-cigarette/vaping, non-nicotine vapes, and other new tobacco products, the steps to protect youth and how to advise others to get involved and take action in their own communities. - HAZELBAKER LIBRARY: Join them every 3rd Tuesday night for different events!
- OUTSIDE FOOD: Just a reminder that there must be NO OUTSIDE ORDERED FOOD IN THE CAFETERIA!!!! (Example: McDonalds, Subway, Pizza) If you bring food in, you can take it to Student Services and eat it there.

- EXTRA YEARBOOKS: There are extra JH Yearbooks for sale in Student Services. They are $16.50 each. Talk to Mrs. Jones about getting your today!
- 2024 INDIANA SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP: The ISA, a nonprofit organization, will sponsor and provide Youth Leadership Camps for students currently in 7th or 8th grade, or 8th entering 9th grade. The camp will be comprised of Indiana sheriffs' deputies, department personnel, ISA staff and other volunteers. Camp activities will include, but are not limited to, law enforcement related displays, career-oriented, leadership skills, obstacle courses, swimming, marching and other recreational and sporting activities. There will be opportunities for discussion and personal contact with some of Indiana's finest law enforcement officers. There are two different sessions, one for northern counties, one for southern counties. Pick up an application in Student Services. DEADLINE FOR NORTHERN-JUNE 1ST, SOUTH- JUNE 15TH

- CAP/GOWN PICK UP: Mark from Herff Jones will be here on Tues. 5/14 from 1130-1230 to pass out cap and gown for Graduation!
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025!!!!!! The deadline is QUICKLY approaching to get money and applications in for approval!!
- PAINTING OF SENIOR PARKING SPOTS 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR: The design form and the $20 MUST be submitted to Mrs. Buster for approval NO LATER THAN May 22nd. Late applications will NOT be accepted. If you only want to reserve a spot and won't be painting, please indicate this on the application. We will be going out and choosing spots the last week of shcool during homeroom TBA on which day depending on weather and availability.
- PROM ANNOUNCEMENT: Reminder to purchase Prom tickets via the QR code found in the Junior and Senior hallways, as well as outside the cafeteria, Main and guidance offices and in Miss Mckinney's room. After prom forms need to be turned into Miss Mckinney no later than May 2, these forms are in her room. Must be signed by a parent! If your date does not go to our school or is under the age of 21 a dance form needs to be filled out/ background check ran (Mrs.Pulley can do these) and turned into Mrs. Pulley.
- FREE SUMMER CLASSES THRU IVY TECH: Ivy Tech is offering a wide range of subjects to explore and college credits to earn. This is a fantastic platform for students to broaden their horizons, accelerate their academic journey, and gain valuable skills for their future. All expenses, including tuition, textbooks, and course fees, are covered. High School students may take ANY class (course placement and prerequisites still apply) There is no cap to the number of classes that may be taken. - ONLINE COURSES OVER SUMMER: Any student in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade who is interested in taking online courses over the summer should register using this link. Students who want to take dual credit courses over the summer will register through a different process. This is only for those taking credit recovery or regular level courses. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Northcutt or Mrs. Hodson.
- PROM TICKETS: Prom tickets are on sale Thru May 3rd. Tickets are $30 per person and will be sold during B lunch. They are being sold via QR code. Any student who leaves before lunch, may see see Mrs. McKinney at any time throughout the day to purchase tickets! Any student wishing to bring someone outside of MG, must fill out a Dance Request form. They are located outside Student Services!
- IVY TECH: Ivy Tech will be here every Wednesday to answer and questions or concerns. They will be in Mrs. Hodson's room.
- RISING JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Rising juniors and seniors interested in pursuing certifications that have fees associated with them now have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to cover the costs. This includes cosmetology and certifications that are outside of the standard certifications that MG already covers. If you are interested in learning more contact Mrs. Hodson. SPORTS INFORMATION
SPORTS PHYSICALS: Madison-Grant Athletic Department will be offering an in-house physical on Thursday, May 2nd for 7th-11th grade student athletes. Physicals will run from 1030-3pm. This will replace the traditional "physical night" that we typically have in summer in late July. Physicals are $20 and a Final Form was sent out to all athletes parents. If they did not receive one, please talk to Mrs. Pulley in the Main Office to pick up a form.
ALL SPORTS PASSES will be sold online ONLY again and will be good for admittance to all home regular season junior high and high school athletic competitions. Passes are currently for sale on the MG Athletic Department website at www.mgathletics.com under TICKETS & PASSES.
