Newsletter Week 11, Term 1
Huirangi Primary School, Monday 11th April 2022
Kia Ora Koutou, Hello Everyone!
It is great to see our roll and staff numbers slowly increasing! To date, we have had 50% of our students, and 60% of our staff contract COVID. The holidays have come at the perfect time for us to ensure we fully recuperate, ready to start Term 2 healthy and happy!
This week we celebrate and farewell Mrs. Curd as our Office Administrator. Mrs. Curd has been working here at Huirangi for over 32 years, and has done a brilliant job! If you have time this week it would be great if you could pop up to the office or make a phone call to wish Judy well. She has been the heart of our school for so long, and she will certainly be missed! We will be celebrating Mrs. Curd's contribution to our school this week, ensuring she has a lovely send off!
On behalf of all the BOT and staff, we wish you a happy retirement, Judy!
Enjoy the two week break and we will see you all back on Monday 2nd May.
Ngā mihi nui,
Natalie Looney
Principal
Three Way Conferences-Thursday 14th April
Please remember to bring the form to the interview with the "My child is awesome because" section completed.
See you on Thursday! Remember, school is not open for instruction!
We have a Facebook Page!
Please do not message us via Facebook. We prefer email or phone.
Waitara Junior Basketball
We won't be sending home a written note - so please talk to your child tonight and contact school via email or by phone - this week so hopefully we can register a team.
Bayley Street Road Works
Should this work be delayed, please take extreme care in driving up to school when we return next term.
Head Lice
These pesky critters do transfer easliy from one head to another by jumping onto hair that is dangling and touching the hair on another person.... this is why we encourage all children to tie their hair up and clip fringes back - [BOYS and GIRLS]
If you do find head lice, please treat their hair before they come back to school and keep checking for nits [eggs] and combing them out. Check all other household members too please.
School Photos
Anyone wanting siblings photos need to request a form from the school office prior to the day. Team photos for Netball [and hopefully Basketball] will be taken too - so coaches/managers/ referees need to bring in their team's uniforms to school that morning, and hopefully, stay to be in the photo!
School Mobile App
You will then recieve all alerts/ updates and fortnightly newsletters.
This is the best way we can effectively communicate the same message to all parents, at once.
Welcome!
Person of Character
