If you would like to have YOUR poem be one of the poems given out on that day, then turn in your poem to the library by April 20th. You can choose to have your name on the poem or be anonymous (no name). Poems must be original and appropriate.

JISD Writes Together 2022
Join us for our 2nd annual JISD Writes Together. This year our event will center around the picture book The Last Butterfly by Regina Moya and Carmen Tafolla. Our event will culminate on Friday, May 27th with an author visit from Carmen Tafolla. The Last Butterfly is an adventure into the migration of monarch butterflies, and the value of protecting those things we love. A perfect read for all. Click below for our JISD Writes Together Choice Board that includes lessons, videos, and activities to get your class on board.
Do you know what a librarian does?
I had the opportunity to speak to Mrs. Rohm's Education and Training classes about what it's like to be a librarian. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the students and showing them all the behind-the-scenes tasks that go into running a library. Some of my favorite tasks include: connecting students and teachers with awesome books, buying new books for the library, and meeting young adult authors!
