Estacada SD Virtual School Days
Support and Information
Estacada Families,
With student and staff safety and health in mind, the Estacada School Board voted on March 12th to proactively close all Estacada schools and transition to distance learning for March 16th-20th. Students will attend school virtually during these days, and will have an extended Spring Break from March 23rd-March 31st. During Spring Break, we will reassess the viability of reopening schools after the break.
What will virtual learning look like?
All students have been equipped with the tools necessary to engage in our innovative distance learning program. Elementary students have been sent home with packets, and secondary students have Chromebook lessons via Google Classroom and Canvas.
All students must check in with their teacher(s) once per day during March 16th-20th in order to be an attendance for the virtual school day. Your child's teacher will reach out via email, phone, or Zoom. If you need to contact your child's teacher, all contact information is available below.
What if I don't have internet?
Access to learning for ALL students is a priority of ours. Our teachers and technology staff have worked quickly to identify many students that do not have internet and distributed hotspots that can provide internet access to those without it currently.
Paper packets are also utilized at the elementary level, and digital learning at the secondary level has been downloaded to Google Drive in order to provide "offline access". All teachers can be contacted via phone in lieu of email for families that do not have internet.
What if we need food services?
We have options to feed all children in need during Distance Learning days. Learn more here.
How is my special needs student being supported?
Learning specialists, teachers, case managers, and paraeducators are all working together to ensure that children's individual needs are met during distance learning. If you have a specific question, please find your child's learning specialist's or teacher's contact information below and feel free to reach out.
