History
The Scottish People or Scots, are a nation native to Scotland. In the Early Middle Ages, Scotland had several ethnic or cultural groups. Scottish people have spoken many different languages. The people of Scotland now have a variety of different religions. They have a lot of culture and traditions that are expressed through their clothes and music.

Homeland
The Scottish People consider Scotland to be their homeland. For generations native Scottish People have been born and raised in Scotland. They are a part of the culture and Politics of Scotland.
Languages
There have been many languages spoken among the Scottish People. They spoke The Pictish language, Norse, Norman-French and Brythonic languages. The Gaelic language spread through most of Scotland by the 9th century.
Conflicts and violence
The Glasgow Ice Cream Wars were conflicts in Scotland in the 1980s between rival ice cream van operators. Sectarianism in Glasgow was a rivalry between Roman Catholics and Protestants. You can see effects of their rivalry continued on today.
Movement for Independence
Scotland was originally a free country in the Middle Ages until James VI of Scotland was crowned king of England and Ireland causing the countries to merge. Now about 400 years later a national referendum is scheduled in Scotland on September 18 2014 to decide if Scotland will become an independent country or not.
Influential People
There are many famous and influential Scottish People. Robert the Bruce was a revolutionary leader against the English. He lived from 1274 through 1329. James Watt was a Scottish man responsible for the invention of the steam engine. Another person is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who is the creator of Sherlock Holmes.
Rights of Power
The Scottish Rite is one of the bodies of Freemasonry a Master Mason can join for more experience to the ways of Freemasonry. The Scottish Rite did not come forth until 1801. There are Scottish Rites in UK, France, Canada, and The U.S.
Where they stand today
They are a small group that is trying to move up in society. Some of the great inventions and practices in society are because of them. They are usually not discriminated upon in society, but still have some moving up to do. The Scottish People have a lot of culture and Traditions that make them who they are.
