Navigation Acts
Navigation Acts was when the government wanted to put Marchantilism into practice by creating two new laws. One was that any trading had to be done with the English and English ships. And if you had to get approval with the English in order to see to other colonies. The Sugar Act was when taxes where the EWID were the only people that could sell sugar to the colonist and the colonist had to pay for the sugar to be imported. This began the resentment against the Mother colony and the colonial manufacturing.
The Proclimation line of 1763
After the French and Indian war the Proclimation line of 1763 was created to prevent wars with the Native Americans and to give the Narives more land. The colonist were angry because they wanted to settle west of the Appication Mountians but they couldn't.
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act taxed anything that was made out of paper. The Parliment wanted to protect the colonist and to get ride of the war debt. Samuel Adams and the Committies of Corrospondince told the colonists how to protest. The Son of Liberty used violence to protest against the taxi collectors. The colonist had the representatives get together and has a meeting about the Stamp Act, also known as the Stamp Act Congress. Finally King George III got ride of the taxes on paper because of the boycott and Ben Franklins address to Parliment.
Quartering Act
In reasponce to th Stamp Act Britian sent more soldiers and troops to control the colonies. The Quartering Act made the colonist home soliers and feed them. The colonist didn't lie, it because it was costly to home the soldiers and they lost their right to their land.
Townshend Acts
Tea,imported goods, paper and glass were all taxed with the Townshend Acts. The daughters of Liberty started making there own cloths instead of buying it. After the Townshend Acts the British continued to tax tea to show they still had power to tax items. Because the tea was still taxed the Son of Liberty continued to protest in violence.
Boston Massacre
A riot began on March 5, 1770 because the colonist were angry about the taxes. They were getting angry and more angry the. The British started fiering shots at the colonists killing 5 people referring to as the Boston Massacre.
Tea Act & Boston Tea Party
The tea act out taxes on tea and only allowed the BWIC to sell tea to the colonist and the colonist had to pay for the tea to be imported. The Son of Liberty were so mad about the taxing of tea that they dressed up as Indians and threw 342 creates of tea into the Boston harbor
Coercive Act
When the Son of Liberty threw the tea in the harbor the government got very angry and the parliament passed new laws regarding the incident. The parliament passed four new laws and they stopped all trade with Britain and Boston, didn't allow anymore town meetings, Britain controlled the colony and the Quartering Acts were strengthened.
