STOP QATAR'S MODEN SLAVERY
Migrant workers forced to work for no pay in Qatar
The uncommon ratio
Qatar's dependence on foreign workers is expected to intensify over the coming decade as it steps up its preparations to host the World Cup in 2022. Migrant workers already dominate Qatar's labor force, comprising 94 percent of all workers and 86 percent of the country's total population of nearly 2 million — the world's highest ratio of migrants to citizens.
But why?
As Qatar's economy boom, more and more amazing architectures were constructed to form glittering cities, therefore, more labor forces are needed for a cheap price. But the migrant workers who assembled this place lives in a very different one. Living conditions for them are horrible and disgusting, the work hours are long and they have little or no payment. All this shocking forced labor led to the death of many migrants.
THIS MUST STOP!
Migrant workers in Qatar are suffering from exploitation and abuse and their awful living conditions. A recent graphic from the Washington Post suggested that as many as 1,200 migrant workers have died in Qatar since 2010.
