Japans geography
Japan is located off the east coast of Asia. Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago which means they have a lot of volcanoes with a string of islands. But some of these islands are inhabited. But the ones that people do live in they have a very large population such as the island of Honshū. The total area of Japan is a little bit smaller than Montana but bigger than Finland. The terrain of Japan is mostly rugged with mountains.
Japans history
Japan modeled its nation after China. Japan has always been controlled by a family and during each time each family ruled it was called a dynasty. Japan when it was first shafting out it was 80% of its population was rice farmers. But over hundreds of years it has become one of the richest countries in the world
Feudalism
Japan developed a feudal system which had similarities to the European system. The shogun (like the king) ruled the country through the daimyo who were the heads of the samurai.Peasants farmed the land in exchange for protection by the samurai, who operated under a code of conduct known as bushido.
Again, society was organized under a rigid class system with no social mobility
Current events
Nearly 75% of schools are bracing for tsunami damage following a major earthquake projected to hit the Nankai Trough in the Pacific, yet about 90% of the schools that responded are designated as evacuation sites, a survey has revealed. Also Contrary to popular belief, it appears that human rights in Japan are increasingly being put in jeopardy. But these people do not care because they have never been discriminated against before
Shintoism
The origin of the word Shinto means way of the kami therefore Shinto beliefs in the way of the kami or gods that exist in the world or nature. Shinto is the largest religion in Japan practiced by nearly 80% of the population.In general, however, this religion is an overall perspective more than a simple list of Shinto beliefs. This perspective referred to by the phrase mono no aware is a uniquely Japanese way of seeing the world and its beauty that contains many nuances, which includes aesthetic sensitivity - a sense of beauty and of the beautiful. Sensitivity toward the aesthetic and the emotional as a basis for looking at life this includes the sadness or pathos of life as well as joy, happiness and bliss.
