High Lakes News
June 2016
Note from our Principal
It is with a bursting heart of emotions I write this final Principal Message. I am retiring June 30th after fourteen years at High Lakes. It is incredibly hard to say goodbye to children, families, staff and friends. I hope you know that it has truly been my honor to be the principal at such a wonderful school. As I reflect on the thing I am most proud of, it is how empathetic our children are for others. They are kind, honest and caring young individuals who openly show those attributes to their peers and the adults around them. It’s been a pleasure to be here each and every day.
In other ways, it is easy to pass the baton on. I have absolutely no worries about High Lakes continuing its tradition of excellence. Linda Burley will be an outstanding leader and she has a wonderful new addition to the administrative team in Tom Lence. Many parents have expressed their sadness in Tom leaving the classroom, but I know he will have an even bigger impact on the entire student body in his new role as Vice Principal. Together they will make an awesome team.
I am excited about this next big adventure in my life, but please know you all will always be in my heart. Thank you for your trust and support over the years.
With Great Affection,
Susan Heberlein
Principal
