AMS Parent Update
3-1-2024
Dear AMS Parents and Families,
As we launch into March, we are finishing up week 26 of our 2023-24 school year! February has been an eventful month filled with rigorous instruction and learning, intentional instructional planning, March is Reading Month Jungle Safari event planning, and mid-winter break.
We held our Daddy/Daughter Dance at the high school, our middle school students participated in Positivity Project Assemblies, and our fourth grade students held their mini-mall to round out their unit on economics. We also held our Spring Scholastic Book Fair, 7th grade Motor City Cruise field trip, and school-wide Spelling Bee this week!
We have an eventful month ahead of us as we jump into our Jungle Safari themed March is Reading Month activities and contests. Please click the images above or the link below for more details! I would like to send a special shout out to Mrs. Kuhn for all your hard work to plan this special month for our students. I would also like to thank our Sugar and Spice club members for helping Mrs. Kuhn create our special "Welcome to the Jungle" display.
AMS is excited to announce a fun, motivational opportunity for all AMS students! Jim "Basketball" Jones will be joining us on March 18th to inspire our students to become their best. Please see the details below to sign your child up to participate.
Our high school counselor, Dena Norrod, will also be here to present information about 8th grade registration to our 7th grade students during Success class on Tuesday, March 19th in the cafeteria. More information coming soon.
We will round out the month with the end of quarter three on Friday, March 22nd, and we will begin Spring Break on Monday, March 25th through Friday, March 29th 😎
As always, thank you, parents, for doing your part to support and encourage your child(ren) to come to school every day ready to ROCK! Thank you for your support and partnership to ensure their continued success.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. It is my personal goal to ensure EVERY AMS student continues to have an amazing and successful school year. GO RAIDERS!
With warmest regards,
Barb Lewis
Principal
