Harding Newsletter
October 2020
Dear Harding Families,
I also want to acknowledge our Harding teachers and staff who have worked so hard to ensure that our students have the tools they need to be learners at school and remotely. We have really stretched teachers out of their comfort zone and I am beyond impressed with the work they have done!
In this newsletter you will find information regarding upcoming changes and information to help support your child's learning. As always please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Brunsvold

Conferences will be 15 minutes in length so staff have a 5 minute buffer to clean between families. We ask that one parent attend and the child for the conference. To maximize your time, think about what information you hope to learn about your child's academic progress prior to the meeting so you know what questions you might want to ask!
Please make sure to sign up for a conference through PTConnect. An email about how to do so should be sent from the district on Friday, October 16 at 4:00 p.m.
How you can support your child at home!
Devices will be sent home for students to have the opportunity for additional practice. There are two computer based programs that we use building wide to help supplement both reading and math. The reading program is Lexia which we have had for quite a few years. This year we have also added a math program called iReady. Both programs provide students with a pre-assessment and place them at the appropriate level.
In Lexia students are assigned a set number of minutes based on the level they are placed in as compared to the grade level expectation. Students may have anywhere from 20-90 minutes a week of assigned time in the program.
In iReady we want all students to complete 45 minutes a week.
When devices go home on Tuesday's students should know what the teachers want them to complete. We would appreciate your support in letting your child know how important it is to meet their minutes each week.
Please reach out to the office or your child's teacher if you have any questions. Thank you!
Box Tops for Education
Dear Families,
We are still collecting Box Tops for our school!
Our goal for this school year is to earn $250.00. You can help us by:
1. Downloading the Box Tops app and choosing Harding Elementary as the school you’re earning for. Remember to scan your receipts when you buy participating Box Tops products!
2. Sending any clipped Box Tops labels you may still have at home to school. Our last turn in date for clipped Box Tops will be October 26, 2020. After this, we will no longer be collecting clipped Box Tops!
A few things to check out:
List of participating products: You can earn Box Tops by purchasing so many products that you probably already buy! Get up to date on what products are participating by checking out our list.
Did you know? In the Box Tops app, you can now invite your friends and family to earn for Harding! Simply go to your profile, and choose “invite friends”. You can then send a referral code through email, text, or social media so your friends and family can download the app and start earning for our school.
Forgetting to scan your receipts? You can set alerts in the app to remind you to scan your receipts after your regular shopping times, or at times of your choosing. Never forget to scan your receipts again!
Thanks for helping our school!
