The Harvest Moon
By: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
It is the Harvest Moon! On gilded vanes
And roofs of villages, on woodland crests
And their aerial neighborhoods of nests
Deserted, on the curtained window-panes
Of rooms where children sleep, on country lanes
And harvest-fields, its mystic splendor rests!
Gone are the birds that were our summer guests,
With the last sheaves return the laboring wains!
All things are symbols: the external shows
Of Nature have their image in the mind,
As flowers and fruits and falling of the leaves;
The song-birds leave us at the summer's close,
Only the empty nests are left behind,
And pipings of the quail among the sheaves.

How Many Kids Would Be More Productive If School Started Two Hours Later?
How much sleep do teenagers get?
Most kids at the William Davies Middle school wake up from 5:30 to 6:30 to get ready for school. According to nationwidechildrens.org most teenagers get 7 to 7 ½ hours of sleep h owever, what is required to perform well is between 9 to 9 ½ hours. I took some notes and went around and asked 17 students at William Davies Middle School how much sleep they get. The average amount of hours they get is 6 to 7 hours.
How will it affect their lives?
Getting enough sleep, even in your adolescent years, could 100% change your opportunities. The kids here at William Davies really work hard to better themselves in education. All of this work is being put to waste when they come to school tired and wishing to go home. Any person with that attitude cannot get through the day without conflict. According to fastcompany.com, it is really not okay to get only 6 hours of sleep, especially because you won’t be productive. Once again you might ask, how will it majorly affect their lives? Not getting enough sleep means your not productive. Not being productive can lead to a lack of education or bad grades. Bad grades for most middle school kids means they will not get in good high schools. If they are not getting the best education it could also affect the colleges they get into. So long term, not getting enough sleep, even in your adolescent years, could 100% change your opportunities in the future.
Overall, I think anyone can agree that if William Davies Middle School had kids wake up two hours later, it could positively impact every student's life.

Top 5 Most Popular Clubs in Davies by Kayrelyn Garcia
There are many clubs in the William Davies Middle School for you to join. That being said, there are many clubs that people join. The Top 5 Clubs That people join are:
Choir~ Choir is one of the most popular clubs here in this school. One of the reasons it's so popular is because you're able to advance and express your singing ability.
Band~ Band is the second most popular clubs here. One of the reasons band is so popular is because a lot of people want to learn how to play an instrument, and perform.
Drama~ Although Drama Club does not have many people in it, there are many people who try to get into the club. I think the main reason the club is so popular is that you get to perform and convey yourself on a stage.
Art/Graphic arts~ These two clubs are also one of the more popular clubs in the school. The reason these two clubs make it to the top 5 is that, like the other ones, it's a way to express yourself.
Sports clubs~ Last but not least, the sports clubs altogether. I say the sports clubs make it to the top 5 because people are being active and getting their energy out. It's also a good way to get exercise.
Dallas Leger Shares a Poem
Winter
by Dorothy Aldis
The street cars are
Like frosted cakes --
All covered up
With cold snowflakes.
The horses' hoofs
Scrunch on the street;
Their eyelashes
Are white with sleet.
And everywhere
The people go --
With faces tickled
By the snow.
