Reflections from Mr. Swegles: Week 1
This weekend, take some to sit down with your child and listen to their thoughts on how the week went. What are some concerns they still have remaining? What are they positive about as they head into week 2? Even though they are middle schoolers and may seem to present that they don't need you as much, the fact is that they do. Sometimes it is a hug, a listening ear, or an "atta boy/girl", but they need you. Thank you for a great week and here's to 31 more!
Forms to be Returned
1. Student Handbook Page 55
2. Technology Use form for new students and 6th graders
3. Consent forms: medical, in district travel, photo
4. Student Contact Forms (emergency forms)
Your child can turn these into the office or give them to your child's P2 teacher and they can turn it in for them.
The Positivity Project
We are excited about starting The Positivity Project next week. We will be starting with an introduction to the Other People Matter mindset. Check out the welcome video from co-founder, Mike Erwin, below. If you haven't checked out The Positivity Project's website, their mission is simple, "Empower America's youth to build positive relationships and become their best selves."
Check out The Positivity Projects social media websites:

Lakeshore Middle School HAS GONE 1:1
The process for turning in a Chromebook for a technical issue or damage repair is set up and will go as follows:
1. The student will take computer to the library and fill out a Chromebook Technical Issue or Damage Report. These are in a green folder to the right of the circulation desk.
2. Once filled out, Mrs. Doyen, library aide, will check them out a loaner Chromebook and charger.
3. Mr. Ames, computer technology specialist, will work on their issue and return the Chromebook to the circulation desk.
4. Mrs. Doyen will contact the student to retrieve their Chromebook and return their loaner and charger. Students will not receive their Chromebook until both loaner items are returned.
You can view LMS Chromebook Expectations here.
Information Worth Sharing
"Vaping is popular among teenagers now for all the wrong reasons. Many teens are under the incorrect assumption that because an e-cigarette is not a traditional paper-rolled-around-tobacco, it's not a health risk. They couldn't be more wrong."
