AUCTION/CARNIVAL: Only 8 days until the big day! I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has made a donation, to those who have been running all over helping pick UP donations, and to those who have helped with the planning of this event. We couldn't have done this without you! BUT we still need tons of volunteers on the day of the event! This is the perfect opportunity for older siblings and grandparents to help out while you shop! You can also volunteer for a slot and still have time to shop. All Auction and Carnival volunteer spots are here.
We will also have our normal Treat Walk station! We are seeking treats for this particular game. Sweet treats, salty treats, small toys, etc. are all welcome! Treats should all be dropped off on Friday at the school, preferably during set-up Friday evening, between 4-7pm. Treat Walk signup genius is here.
One of the highlights of the Auction and Carnival for the kids is the FISH BOWL RAFFLE! For three days next week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), students will be able to purchase raffle tickets at lunch. Tickets are 10 for $5. (Please note, we will be keeping track of ticket numbers in a spreadsheet - students will not bring them home!) This years Fishbowl Raffle items are:
- Lego Adventure Set (featuring 3 Lego City sets)
- Color Rave Electric Scooter and helmet
- Backyard Adventure Kit (including a slackline kit and hammock)
- $100 Meijer gift card
Winners will be announced after the Live Auction on Saturday. You do not need to be present to win!
TEACHER and STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is next week as well. We have some special things planned each day to show them how wonderful we think they are! Thank you to everyone who has signed up or made a donation toward this already. If you would like to help out, there are still a variety of slots open. The TAW signup genius is located here! If you would like to know what we have planned for the week, please check out the attached flyer.
SENIOR SURVIVOR: Each year, Brighton High School does a Senior Survivor Week in which teams of Seniors compete with each other to raise the most money for a given foundation. This year, there are 8 teams who will fundraise throughout the day, have competitions throughout the evening, and sleep over at the high school for a week. This year's foundation is Fund-a-Life. The teams are currently taking orders for Senior Survivor shirts. If you are interested in purchasing one, you can do so at Kensington Valley Varsity before May 1st.
During the week of May 9-13, we will be placing grade level buckets out for coin donations to help the seniors in their fundraising efforts. If you wish to participate, your students can bring change that week. This will be a grade level competition among all schools - ie 3rd Graders at Spencer, Hawkins, Hilton, and Hornung will all be counted together. More information to follow.

Note From the Counselor
Counselor Corner!
Welcome back from break, here in the final stretch of the year! We hope the month of April brings us some warmer weather and time outside. This month, we will be providing classroom lessons on the topic of Wellness. We will focus on creating a healthy body and mindset as well as promoting wellness within ourselves. Students will be asked to reflect on their choices that make them stronger as learners as well as humans! We would like to encourage you to continue conversations at home about the things that help us all grow with our mindset and skills to make us healthy and happy.
The Elementary Counselor Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home! Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have, and we will do our best to support your child.
