A Message from the Principal
I hope everyone had the opportunity to safely take in the eclipse on Monday. Even though the eclipse began after our dismissal, we had a number of students around campus for athletics and other school events. A number of groups viewed the eclipse at various points across campus.
Hard to believe it, but next week's school vacation is the last stop before the homestretch of the school year. Here are some important dates as we look ahead into May and June as they pertain to academic testing opportunities.
- May 6-17 - AP Exams
- May 15 and 16 - Science MCAS Grade 8 - Regular arrival time for non-testers
- May 21 and 22 - Math MCAS Grades 8 and 10 - Reverse Half Days for non-testers
- June 4 and 5 - Civics MCAS Grade 8 and Science MCAS Grade 9 - Reverse Half Days for non-testers
Tomorrow night, the HHS Home and School Association is hosting a Family Game Night to help build some community amongst our students and families. The details are below in this newsletter. Consider coming out with your whole family. We will have games appropriate for all ages.
The staff was very grateful for a staff appreciation luncheon also hosted by the Home and School Association. Many contributions made that possible, and we had a great time together before heading into our afternoon professional development.

Parent View: First Student Bus Company's APP for Parents
Excerpt from Superintendent Brian Reagan's Hudson Highlights Newsletter
First Student Bus Company has provided our district with FirstView. The app for parents is called ParentView and it gives parents direct access to the status of their child’s bus. ParentView tracks the bus on the map allowing parents to view and even set up notifications around their pick-up/drop-off location, so they can be alerted when the bus is close.
Getting started with FirstView is simple. See the links below to download the app from Google Play or the App Store, register for an account, and enter the required code; District code for Hudson Public Schools 2023-2024 school year is DW9J.

UNESCO Applications Being Accepted
Are you looking to get yourself involved in an on-going research project that targets global issues? Well the United Nations Educational Cultural Organization or UNESCO is holding it’s 27th international conference this coming January in Portugal that could provide this very opportunity. The theme this year is “Climate Action”. This theme is built around the United Nations’ Sustainable Goal #13, which states “take urgent action to combat climate change and it’s impacts”.
If you are interested in designing a project around this topic and presenting it to an international audience, please e-mail Ms. Judy Pavao for an application or go directly to the linked UNESCO site. At the UNESCO website, you can also learn more about this year’s theme and past projects.
The deadline for applications is Friday, April 12th.
