Oak Ridge Family Focus
September 16th Edition
Weekly Update
A quick story from this week:
We have many students who speak multiple languages at Oak Ridge. This week, one of our students who does not speak English as the first language was having difficulty understanding a task. However, a different student who speaks the native language of the student having difficulty quickly communicated what needed to be done. The students smiled, exchanged a few words in their native language, and returned to what they were working on. This student who at first felt confused and lost, now felt relaxed and connected. This student was a part of the team.
This is Oak Ridge. We are here for each other and will always be there to support one another. We are extremely fortunate to have so many students and staff members from various cultures and backgrounds. We celebrate our diversity. While we may look different and speak different languages, we are one family. The Oak Ridge family.
Thank you for being a part of our family at Oak Ridge. We are lucky to have each one of you.
Have a great week,
Beth Reich, Principal
Kevin Buscemi, Assistant Principal
