Pool Opening update
The Covington Place board of directors will be opening the pool soon. The actual date will be announced when the sanitizing equipment ordered last week arrives. We are under strict guidelines from the State and Newton County Health Department. In order to follow those guidelines we have decided the following:
1. Pool hours will be from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Friday and Saturday We will open Memorial Day 11:00 - 9:00 PM and be closed Tuesday and Wednesday that week.
2. All pool patrons must maintain a 6ft separation from others IN AND OUT of the pool. Exception: immediate family members.
3. No one under the age of 16 may enter the pool enclosure unless accompanied by their legal guardian.
4. NO VISITORS unless they are immediate family members.
5. Identification is required to enter the pool (please bring it with you) and you will be required to register with the pool attendant upon arrival. Pool key cards are inactive.
6. Pool toys are allowed but cannot be shared unless with immediate family. Throwing toys, ball or anything else is prohibited.
7. To begin with we are limiting the number of patrons inside the pool enclosure to 50. We ask that you limit your time at the pool to 2 hours if others are waiting to get in. Please accommodate your neighbors.
8. Masks are recommended outside of the swimming pool.
9. If you are sick or running a fever over 100 degrees don’t come into the pool enclosure.
10. As always, residents who are in arrears with their assessments will be denied entry.
The Department of Health will be conducting random and unannounced inspections. They will SHUT US DOWN if these guidelines are not followed.
We have hired a pool staffer to enforce these rules. Her name is Maggie O’Kelley. She is NOT A LIFEGUARD. As always, swim at your own risk.
The pool staffer has the authority to act on the Board’s behalf to deny entry to the pool enclosure and to require pool patrons to leave the pool enclosure if they are not following these guidelines.
Ms. O’Kelly will be sanitizing before the pool is open and after it is closed. Additionally she will be sanitizing during the time the pool is open e.g. bathrooms, handrails and seating. Please let her know when you are leaving so she may sanitize the area you left.
Ms. O’Kelly is not familiar with the residents. Please be patient with her until she gets to know you and follow her requests.
