COLLEGE APPLICATION/SAT FEE WAIVER: If you qualify under ONE of the following and are interested in this service, please contact your counselor. You're enrolled in or eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Your annual family income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. You're enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., Federal TRIO programs such as Upward Bound). Your family receives public assistance. You live in federally subsidized public housing or a foster home, or are homeless. You are a ward of the state or an orphan. SAT and ACT TEST (2020-2021): Visit www.collegeboard.com to get information on SAT test dates, times, and availability. COLLEGE APPLICATIONS: Be sure to check on application deadlines for your desired college soon, and start assembling the various pieces required (the application, transcripts, letters of recommendation if needed, etc). Deadlines can be earlier than you realize, and even state schools (like the UW) have deadlines as early as November! FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): Students and families can begin to submit the FAFSA on October 1 and all items related to financing college (scholarships, grants, loans, work study, etc) all begin with the FAFSA. Be sure to visit www.fafsa.gov to start the process! WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) is a financial aid program for students who are not eligible for federal aid due to their immigration status.
