German Corner
A GERMAN IDIOM
When I thought about what I could talk about for this week’s German Corner, I realized that I haven’t actually wrote about anything specifically language related since last year. That is highly unusual for a guy that prides himself on being a linguist and a lover of all thing’s language. What is more language (and culture) related than idioms? For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “idiom”, Webster’s Dictionary describes an idiom as an expression that has a figurative meaning and not a literal one and is peculiar to a people, district, community, or class. This week’ German idiom is “seinen Senf dazugeben”. Literally translated it means “to add one’s mustard.” How German to talk about mustard (think bratwurst and mustard)! It actually is an idiom and means “to express one’s opinion whether it is wanted or not.” Next time you are in a conversation with someone that loves to tell you what you think whether you like it or not, just say to them “seinen Senf dazugeben”! Their bewilderment will steer the conversation in another direction. Useful, correct? Viel Glück! Bis nächste Woche!

ANNUAL FAMILY PORTAL CHECK-IN FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
Every year we ask parents to update their family information and let us know if your student will be attending a Weld RE-4 school in the coming year. Please log into your Campus Portal Parent account to complete the Annual Family Check-In.
Families with Existing Students
Campus Parent > More > Annual Family Check-in > Click Here to go to Existing Student Registration > complete update > click submit
If you are currently an out of district 8th moving to 9th: Out of District Open Enrollments
Open Enrollment forms must be filled out and handed into school or District Office
Annual Family Check-In must be completed for each household on an annual basis. If you do not have a Campus Parent account, please call our school office at 970-833-7100.
Laptop or a desktop computer are the best way to complete the Annual Family Check In, as the process is not optimized for mobile devices (e.g., smartphones).
If you have any questions about Campus Parent or the Annual Family Check In, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number below.
