At Home Routine COVID Testing
We are excited to offer ELC students the opportunity to participate in At Home Routine COVID Testing. This service is completely optional. While more detailed information will follow, below is an overview of the process.
For participating students, test kits will be sent home each Friday beginning on December 10, 2021. Families will complete the test (nasal swab) on Sunday evening or before school on Monday and return the sealed sample to school in the specimen bag provided.
To begin the process, interested families are asked to consent to testing. Please find the link below. If you previously consented under Thacher Elementary School, we ask that you re-consent and select the Early Learning Center from the drop down menu. Families who consented under Thacher will receive a follow up email as notification.

Just a reminder for those students eligible to ride a bus
Due to a scheduling conflict with the buses for Wednesday, December 8th, we will only be able to provide transportation to the ELC in the morning. Parent pick-up at 11:25am will be required on that day. We realize this may be an inconvenience for you so please let us know if your child will not be attending the ELC on Wednesday, December 8th.
For our afternoon classes:

Parent drop off at 12:35 will be required on that day. Your child will be transported via bus at 3:15pm dismissal. We realize this may be an inconvenience for you so please let us know if your child will not be attending the ELC on Wednesday, December 8th.
School Pictures
School pictures are going home today. If you are unhappy with your photo or your child was absent the day the photos were taken, picture retake day is Friday, December 10th.
If your student was absent or not photographed on the original picture day, please fill out an order envelope and have the student bring it in on makeup day. You may send in cash, check, money order or order online by visiting Smile-Pro Portraits at
https://smileproportraits.simplephoto.com/prepay/43570017
If your student was photographed and you would like to have their picture retaken, please send in the entire original package (whatever came home) with them on makeup day. Smile-Pro Portraits will then re-photograph them and reprint the exact package originally ordered.

Reminders
Field:
During school hours, the back field is not open, as it is used by classes. Please be mindful of this during arrival and dismissal times.
Please remember that there is no driving or parking in the coned off areas. It is helpful if you relay that information to any friends/relatives helping with drop off or pick up.
Absences:
I just wanted to thank the families who contact the office when their child will be absent for the day. While it is fine to text/remind/email your child's teacher as well, the office still needs to be notified. During the ongoing COVID reality we are living in, all absences need to be reviewed, and referred to the nurse as warranted. The ELC office number: (508) 223-1563
From the Health Office
If your child has any of the following symptoms that indicate a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others, please DO NOT send them to school. Please check your child for these symptoms and if present, will need a PCR COVID 19 test (antigen test or otherwise known as rapid test cannot be accepted for symptomatic students) before returning to school:
COVID-19 symptoms list:
• Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills
• Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
• New loss of taste or smell
• Muscle aches or body aches
• Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough)
• Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms
• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, when in combination with other symptoms
• Headache when in combination with other symptom
• Fatigue, when in combination with other symptom
• Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptom
In general, students with vomiting, fever, and/or diarrhea may not return until free of those symptoms for 24 hours – even if tested negative for Covid 19.
Nurse's Office needs donations of new underwear for boys/girls size 5 - 10 and new, or gently used, pants/shorts size 5-10.
