The Frank Church Statesman
March 2024
Principal's Corner
I would like to send out a brief reminder that Daylight Savings Time begins on March 10th while we sleep Saturday into Sunday, with clocks springing ahead an hour at 2 a.m.
In addition, the end of third quarter is quickly approaching, and it’s very important for our students to focus on attendance and catching up on any missing assignments.
Lastly, we are very happy with the academic achievements of our students thus far, and want to encourage everyone to study hard for their finals and then enjoy a well-deserved and relaxing Spring Break.
Thank You!

CWI Placement Testing
If you plan to enroll at CWI this fall, then you need to take CWI's Math & English Placement Test before you can register for class. You do not need to get a certain score on the test; the score will be used to place you in a class that is the right level for you. Reach out to Ms. O if you have any questions!

CELEBRATIONS
Ski and Snowboard Trip
On February 27, the second Frank Church High School Bogus Basin trip brought 20 students up to Bogus Basin for a 90 minute ski or snowboard lesson and some mountain fun before returning to school. Unlike the first trip and January's unseasonably warmer temperatures (in the 40s!), temperatures were in the 20s with some fresh snow still to be found and snowmaking occurring on two slopes throughout the day. Some students continued to improve their ski or snowboarding skill, while a few braved the day by taking their first lesson. Both trips would not have been possible without the generous support of Bogus Basin by providing Frank Church with a scholarship to pay for rentals, lessons and lift passes.
Higher Ed Day
10 colleges and universities visited Frank Church for Higher Ed Day! Students got to choose three different presentations to attend and learn about post-secondary opportunities!
