Headteachers Message
Dear Families
As we complete another week here at Teddington, I'm delighted to share some exciting updates and upcoming events with you all.
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who attended our recent PTA meeting on Monday. The PTA have been hard at work, and we're thrilled to announce some fantastic initiatives they're spearheading. Mark your calendars for the annual plant sale on 27 April. Also, don't miss out on the silent disco planned for our new Year 6 students and current Year 7s in July. Last year's plant sale and disco where real highlights of the calendar.
The PTA is also collaborating on redeveloping our bike storage facilities, beginning with a dedicated area for our Sixth Form students. They have also begun an exciting project to plant a wildflower meadow at the front of our school site in the coming weeks. These initiatives enhance the aesthetic appeal of our school, promote sustainability and provide a valuable habitat for local wildlife.
Looking ahead to next week, we have another STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) day planned, this time for our Year 8 students. Focused on problem-solving and teamwork, this event will feature engaging activities and insightful presentations from external visitors.
As a gentle reminder, we finish for the Easter break at 15:00 on Thursday 28 March, for a two-week holiday. I encourage all students to remain focused and engaged right up until the end of next week, attending in full uniform as usual.
Finally, as we reflect on the accomplishments of another successful term, I would like to thank all members of our school community for your efforts and dedication. Together, we are continuing to create a fantastic learning environment for our students.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Kind regards
Mr P Grills
Headteacher

Weekly Head of Year Message
Dear Families
I am delighted to reflect on the outstanding achievements and progress made by the Year 7 students. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning have truly shone through, making this term another one to remember.
At the heart of our success lies the Teddington Pillar, our commitment to providing an excellent education that nurtures the holistic development of every student. Throughout this term, our Year 7 cohort has exemplified this ethos, demonstrating resilience and determination as they strive for excellence in all areas of their education.
One notable aspect of our students' achievements is their pursuit of the bronze, silver, and gold badges. Through their hard work and perseverance, many of our Year 7 students have earned these prestigious accolades, symbolising their dedication to personal growth and academic excellence.
Beyond the classroom, our students have actively participated in a variety of extra-curricular clubs and fixtures, representing our school with pride. Whether on the sports field, in the arts, or in academic competitions, they have consistently demonstrated sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination, making us proud ambassadors in the community.
In addition to their academic and extracurricular achievements, our Year 7 students have engaged in valuable learning experiences through our Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) programme. Throughout the term, they have explored topics such as healthy relationships, unconscious biases, and cyberbullying, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of secondary school life with confidence and empathy.
As we celebrate the successes of this term, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we have created a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
Kind regards
Miss E Steer

Year 7 Rewards Assembly
A message from Miss Steer:
Congratulations to all Year 7s this term. Their hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and I'm incredibly proud of each and every one of them. A special shoutout to Thomas, who won the Head of Year Award, for his exceptional commitment to excellence and consistent performance in all lessons β he has set a shining example for his peers to follow.
Down's Syndrome Awareness Day
On Thursday 21 March, members of the Teddington Leadership Team attended an assembly from Natalie O'Rourke and her son Woody. Woody is a student at Collis, who has Down's Syndrome and the pair were planning on presenting in 21 different places in 21 hours in recognition of Down's Syndrome Awareness Day. Natalie and Woody spoke to the students about calling out prejudice when they see it and the importance of referring to people with disabilities in a 'person first' way.
