Carl Sagan
1934-1996
Writing science books
Known for his work in writing science books
Carl was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, science popularizer and science communicator in astronomy and natural sciences. Sagan made it very easy to understand astronomy. He also understood global warning as a danger. He is best known for his constitutions for life outside of the solar system. Sagan brought science to people through books and television shows. His show even won an award. His phase “billions and billions” comes from a sentence in the Cosmos series. The sentence says, “A galaxy is composed of gas and dust and stars—billions upon billions of stars.” Sagan was also very interested in nature. Stars fascinated him, and when he was little he wanted to know more and more about them and the sun. Sagan’s deep concern was the destruction of human civilization in a nuclear holocaust.
