Book Fair!
The Book Fair is coming Feb 6 – Feb 10! All purchases at the Book Fair give back 50% of the total sales in the form of free books to the school and teachers.
eWallet is a safe and easy way to allow students (especially our younger students) to shop the Book Fair during school.
You can set up eWallet by visiting our School Book Fair website below. You can create an account and add funds. Grandparents, family friends, etc can add to your student’s eWallet. The students can shop with the electronic funds at the Book Fair, so you don’t have to worry about lost cash, checks, or change.

We can access the eWallet balance on our Scholastic registers at the Book Fair. You can print the certificate off the Scholastic website, but it’s not necessary. We just need the student to tell us their name and grade, and we can easily find their eWallet balance.
Any unused eWallet balances will remain in the account after the Book Fair ends and can be redeemed in The Scholastic Store Online or used to fund an eWallet for a future Fair. NC state sales tax will be added to all Book Fair purchases (in person or online), as applicable. We will make sure on the last day that any student that still has money left on their eWallet can come use that remaining balance.
We can use your help! To sign up to help work the Book Fair, please use the link below:

Perseverance
This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Perseverance. Perseverance means you complete what you start despite obstacles. You never give up.
The concept of perseverance can most often be found in one’s active pursuit of overcoming obstacles. Perseverance is a uniquely human characteristic that identifies an individual’s ability to spend long periods of time devoted to a single goal or set of goals. People demonstrating high levels of perseverance can handle significant, sometimes repeated, setbacks in pursuit of goals.
Those who persevere through setbacks often reap the benefits of the success gained by refusing to give up. Sometimes, this comes with the added benefit of increased knowledge and skill as a result of the work needed to achieve. A single group member’s ability or willingness to persevere can substantially impact those working with them and the team. Groups that show high levels of perseverance can achieve goals they may not have believed possible.
To practice and encourage the character strength of perseverance with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
Have a wonderful week!
