Dear EUSD Families:
Thank you for your tremendous involvement in participating in parent-teacher conferences. Your engagement and support in your child’s education is more critical now than ever and we are truly grateful. We will continue to partner with our families as we look to the next phases of our gradual reopening.
This week our Board of Trustees heard updates and recommendations to begin the process of planning our next phase of reopening. We know our students, staff and families are happy to have students on campus and we continue to strive toward bringing students back on campus for more in person learning. Please find a copy of the presentation slides with this link. They contain important updates and information shared with the EUSD Board of Trustees including the current status of hybrid, results from recent surveys, and next steps in our reopening process. In addition, a video of the presentation is available at this link in English and Spanish.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have consistently worked to ensure students and staff confidently return to a safe environment conducive for learning and work. As we walk around our campuses, this is truly evident. We want to continue to have this same level of attention to detail and high levels of safety precautions as we proceed. As part of our ongoing reopening discussions and interests in bringing students back for more in person learning, we will convene our reopening committees again following fall break. We will bring forward plans in November for gradually bringing students back for more in person time beginning in January. At this time, we will remain in a hybrid model through winter break. We are working with our committees to use the feedback provided in our surveys to make some necessary adjustments to refine the learning experience for all students at home and in person.
Our ability to remain open is dependent upon our families and staff observing safety practices and procedures both at school and outside of school. These practices include wearing masks, social distancing, proper hygiene, etc.
Thank you for your support. Please be safe over the break and stay well!
Warmly,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
