PTA Positions 2014-2015:
Thank You to all of the parents who signed on to volunteer for PTA committees last week. Many positions were filled. However, the Assistant Treasurer position remains open. This is a vital role that needs to be filled. IIn addition, coordination is still needed for our academic programs. The Spelling Bee and the Reflections Art Program still do not have a coordinator. The MCES students may not be able to participate in these programs if leadership for them is not found. The Science Olympics program and Boosterthon Programs still need a co chair. The PTA also needs a coordinator for the Square Art Fundraiser. Please contact AnnMarie Marchese at annmariemarchese@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer for next year. The PTA roster will be presetned at the May 20th PTA meeting for approval.
Teacher Appreciation Week:

Bring an Apple (card) for you teacher, say Thanks a Latte with a coffee gift card, or You Help Me Grow, with a garden center card. Other great ideas for gift cards include book stores, office supply stores and restaurants.
Munchie Monday (Bring your teacher(s) a snack or a treat)
Treasure Tuesday (Bring a gift card)
Wish List Wednesday (Bring an item from your teacher's wish list)
Thank You Thursday (Write a thank you note to your teacher)
Flower Friday (Bring 1 flower for your teacher to make a bouquet)
Thursdays will also include luncheons for the teachers from the PTA.
Cultural Arts:
In May and June, Fifth Grade students will work with environmental artist, Bryant Holsenbeck, to create their own 3-dimensional animal art piece from recycled materials. If you have plastic bags, remnant fabrics, old sheets, curtains or castaway yarns or ribbon, please consider donating them. The materials may be dropped off at any 5th grade classroom.
