GRATITUDE: Core Value for November 2017
Last month our Core Value was Creativity, and this month we will learn about Gratitude! We have told our BES students that Gratitude is letting others know that you see how they have helped you! The animal for the month is the Rabbit, and we will learn about how that ties to the value of Gratitude - don't forget to ask your student about what they learn on daily announcements. Our students will be showing gratitude this month to special members of our community such as our Brenham Citizens On Patrol, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and more! As always, there is a coloring sheet tied to our Core Value of Gratitude at the end of this newsletter for students to enjoy!

Library News
The library was full of amazing Book Character Pumpkins. Thank you to all students and families for participating!. As always please remember to have your child/children keep their library books in their backpacks when not reading and no liquids or food near them. Please continue to read, read, read.
Also, there is still an opportunity to join the Birthday Book Club by purchasing a book for the library in your child's name in honor of their birthday. The form is attached at the bottom of our newsletter and is available at school if needed.

Nurse Notes from Mrs. Peele
As the School Nurse at Brenham Elementary School, I encourage our students and families to consider receiving the flu vaccine this year. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that everyone, 6 months and older, receive a yearly flu vaccine. Children and seniors are particularly susceptible to flu viruses that sometimes may cause serious health issues. Some facilities in the Brenham area have already documented flu cases this season. Following is a summary of facilities with flu vaccine availability in Brenham for your convenience. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this matter.
A Message from our BES PTO

Look for notes coming home about our Fall Staff Appreciation Luncheon on November 16th. There are several different ways families can help show the awesome BES staff our gratitude!
Our next PTO meeting is November 7th at noon! Hope you can join us!
