Happy Friday Kipling Families!
Our first music show of the school year was a success! The 5th graders did a fantastic job performing songs such as “I Want you Back,” and “Send Me on My Way.” Thank you to all the families that came out to support our students and Ms. Brynda for the first of many great music shows this school year!
Just a reminder that next week students are in attendance only on Monday. Parent teacher conferences will be held Monday night and Tuesday day. No school Wednesday-Friday for the Thanksgiving Break.
Stay warm and have a wonderful weekend!

SEL Spotlight (Social Emotional Learning)
3rd Grade held a living museum in the MPR this week. Each student picked a famous/well-known person to research and write a speech about. They then came to life and gave their speech as visitors went around to visit the museum. Students worked with their teachers and peers to practice their speech and work through any nervousness they may have had. The students’ costumes and speeches were outstanding!

-If your child needs to be unbuckled/buckled in please let our staff know and someone can help them get in or out of the car.
-If you want to walk your child to or from the door, please find a parking spot in the lot or on the street and then walk to the building.
Parent-Teacher Conferences

Kipling Community Partnership Team
The team of teachers on the Community Partnership team here at Kipling are working towards including community members’ expertise within our lessons that apply to what we are doing in the classroom. We have created this brief form for members of our Kipling community to complete if interested.
By completing this form we will generate a list of adults that are connected to Kipling students who are willing to come into a classroom and teach about their profession. Teachers may use this list to invite professionals into their classrooms when applicable.
If there is a professional that is connected to your family that may have expertise on a topic they’d be willing to teach about here at Kipling, please forward this email, and the link to the form to them.
Here is the link to the Google Form.
If you have any questions, please contact one of our Community Partnership Team leaders, Chase McCulloch (cmcculloch@dps109.org) or Heather Sepper (hsepper@dps109.org). Thank you for taking the time to support and enrich the learning experience for our Kipling students!

Seeking Cultures to Showcase!
The first Kipling Cultural Collection display is up and it looks awesome! Thank you so much to the Lombardo family for teaching us all about your Sicilian culture and heritage. Please watch his video to learn more about his culture!
In an effort to ensure inclusion of diverse populations and perspectives, we are looking for other Kipling families to use the Kipling Cultural Collection to teach the Kipling community about your culture! Display objects may include 6-8 traditional or cultural objects, a family video describing the significance of each object, recipe, flag, map, music, etc - anything to bring your vibrant culture to life!
If you and your family are interested in sharing your culture with the Kipling community, please complete this brief form. If you sign up, a member of our committee will be in contact about next steps.

--The Kipling PTO is once again partnering with Restored Hope to fulfill the wish lists for a number of families in the Englewood Community. We will also be helping to fill their Hope Closet that is used to support families throughout the year with items such as paper towels, toilet paper and detergent. We are hoping everyone will participate, however, participation is always voluntary. A link to sign up to participate in the annual Restored Hope gift drive will be sent out later this evening.
This year, there are two different ways to support 1) through the district Snowflake program and 2) through Kipling’s Restored Hope holiday drive.

Happy Friday, DPS 109 Families. From the snow we got this week to the lights outside, the Holiday Season is officially here. We are excited to kick off this joyful time with our 109 Gives Back district-wide Holiday Gift Drive!
Wish lists are now LIVE. You can view it by clicking here or scanning the QR code you see on any flyer. Each item will help a local family fulfill their holiday wishes!
We will have holiday-themed boxes in the lobby of each school between November 28th - December 9th to drop off gifts. If you are bringing gift cards, we ask that you please drop them off at our district office.
We are thankful for our generous community and looking forward to making dozens of families’ holidays brighter this year! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact communications@dps109.org.
