Greenmeadows School 19th October 2021
Principal's Message
Kia ora koutou,
A welcome back to everyone.
A nine week term ahead of us to finish the year - with (hopefully) most of the Term 4 activities still due to happen.
Plenty of fun things ... and with a major building project happening. School is an exciting place!
I wish you all a relaxing and safe Labour weekend - four days off school ...

And our new caretaker has started this week - Mr Martin Hicks. Martin has fitted in perfectly and is learning fast about all the fun things a school caretaker gets to do! Great to have you on board Martin.
Nau mai, haere mai! Neat to see you all here.
TEMPORARY OFFICE
As the Level 2 limits access for parents into the school, there are still some instances when parents need to come onto our site.
The office is now a long way off the street so we have laid out arrows to guide you to this space.
See the photo montage below to help!

Some other info for you:
• the children will be able to wear their House colours for the day and we will sit in House Groups when their ‘Mini Cross Country’ is on
• the children can run in shoes or bare feet
* Parents can watch from the footpath on Gloucester Street or Osier Road. We ask that you do not come into the school grounds, unless you care coming to collect your child at the end of their run
* Children will be free to depart school with parents once their race has been completed. They can be met at the collection areas marked by orange cones by the dental clinic and 'Mud Tree'!
If you have more than one child racing and they are of different ages, then they can be collected at the end of the race of the eldest child. The older child will go and collect their sibling from their room.
If children do not get picked up early they will be released at the end of the school day as per normal ...
The weather forecast looks good too!
Bye Bye GMS Hall ...
This was a unique building that was half a prefabricated classroom wedged into the older school block. It served its purpose, but as they years have gone on it has been outdated - very low roof, small and as time has gone on pressed into service as a classroom with the roll increase.
But wait to see the new hall that will take its place ... by November 2022.
Yummy Apple Stickers Promotion
Due to the enforced lockdown for parts of New Zealand, the Yummy Apple Stickers promotion has been extended but only until next week. Last chance to eat those healthy apples but only after you have peeled off the sticker and put it on the sheet!
