Entry to Building in the AM
Beginning Monday 9/20, the school doors will not be unlocked until 7:30. At that time, students can head in to breakfast in the commons. All food needs to be eaten in the Commons, PAC or Mezzanine area per our COVID safety measures Students are not allowed to eat in hallways, classrooms or Pod areas at this time.
Important Transportation Information
Due to COVID protocols, effective for this school year, students will not be allowed to ride a different bus. If a student shows up to a bus with a bus note they'll be directed back to the office or their regular routed bus. Seating on buses is limited so we are unable to accomodate changes that effect the number of students routed to each bus. Sorry for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding.

UPDATED - MHS Athletic Spectator Guidelines
Per Governor Inslee’s mandate, face coverings/masks are now required for outdoor events with 500 or more people, regardless of vaccination status. Please remember this when attending outdoor school district athletic events, as this new mandate will be strictly enforced for all those attending.
Our district and schools will be proactive in adhering to these guidelines with increased facility signage, in-game public announcements, in-school student reminders, etc. that highlight the face covering/masking expectations. The same guidelines hold true when attending away (non-home) events and activities.
The Governor's office and Washington State Department of Health have noted they will allow K-12 athletics and extracurricular activities to continue so long as they trust that their member schools will enforce the mandate at each and every event. All of us have done tremendous work over the last 18 months to get athletics and activities back up and running with fans. We kindly request that all those in attendance please adhere to the mandates to make sure these participation opportunities continue to be available for our students. Please be kind to our employees as they enforce this state-level mandate in order to keep our students, staff, families and community safe and healthy.
Thank you!
Chrome books
If your high school student does have a district issued chromebook from last year, make sure you fill out the Chromebook User Agreement & Protection form and send it to school with your student. Your student can return their old Chrome book and get their new Chrome book.
Chromebooks will be checked out for the school year in the same way as a textbook. The expectation is that students will take care of the device, bring it to school daily (charged), and use it at home as an extension of their learning at school. Just as with textbooks, if a Chromebook is lost or damaged, families will be financially responsible for repairing or replacing them. However, families will have the option to purchase Chromebook protection that will provide coverage for accidental breakage, etc. The Chromebook Protection plan information is included above. If you have any questions, please call the school’s main office.

Free Lunches and Breakfasts
This year, students at Monroe School District have a lot to look forward to when it comes to mealtime. For the 2021-2022 school year, meals will be offered to students in all grade levels at no cost, thanks to flexibilities provided by the USDA’s National School Lunch Program. This allows everyone to enjoy 1 free breakfast & 1 free lunch per day.
All families, however, are encouraged to fill out the annual Free and Reduced Price Meal Application as eligibility provides many other benefits, including Pandemic EBT benefits for your family, no student fees for high school programs, free student entrance to all ASB extracurricular events (dances, athletics, etc) and reduced fees for family members to attend extracurricular events (athletics, plays, etc). Filling out this application also provides critical funding for our schools.
What’s on the Menu? Nutrislice, an innovative app, students, parents and faculty have access to school menus, including nutrition information, allergens and photos. Nutrislice can be downloaded for free from the App store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and is available on desktop and mobile devices.
