March 2024 Parent Newsletter
Boletín para padres de marzo de 2024
Message from the Principal
We hope this newsletter finds you well and that the spring season brings a sense of renewal and joy to your families. As we transition into March, there are a few important updates and reminders we'd like to share with you.
Spring Break: With Spring Break just around the corner, we hope you have plans for a restful and enjoyable time with your loved ones. Whether you're traveling or staying close to home, we encourage you to take advantage of this break to relax, rejuvenate, and spend quality time together as a family. Please note that the school will be closed from March 8-15 for Spring Break.
Testing Season: As we return from Spring Break, we will be entering a period of testing for our students. Standardized tests play a crucial role in assessing student progress and identifying areas for improvement. We want to assure you that we are committed to providing a supportive and conducive testing environment for all students. Please stay tuned for more information regarding specific testing dates and preparation strategies in the coming weeks. 5th graders will begin testing at the end of this month- see "Dates to Remember" at the end of this newsletter.
Supporting Your Child During Testing: We understand that standardized testing can sometimes be a source of stress for students and families alike. Here are a few tips to help support your child during this time:
- Encourage them to get plenty of rest leading up to the tests.
- Provide nutritious meals to fuel their bodies and minds.
- Remind them to listen carefully to instructions and take their time answering questions.
- Offer words of encouragement and remind them that their worth is not determined by test scores.
- Help them arrive on time, especially on testing days. Please do not sign students out early on testing days.
Stay Connected: As always, we encourage you to stay connected with us through our school website, social media channels, and Class Dojo. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. We are grateful for the opportunity to work together to help your child reach their fullest potential.
Wishing you a wonderful spring break and a successful testing season ahead!
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Our Mission View PTA is excited to announce the opportunity for dedicated parents to step forward and take on leadership roles within our Parent-Teacher Association.

Foster Community Engagement: PTA officers play a crucial role in fostering communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school administration. This helps create a supportive and engaged school community.
Build Leadership Skills: Serving as a PTA officer provides a valuable opportunity to develop and enhance leadership, organizational, and communication skills – skills that are transferable to various aspects of life.
Shape School Initiatives: PTA officers actively participate in shaping and supporting school initiatives, ensuring that the parent community's voice is heard in decision-making processes.
Positions Open for Nomination:
President: The President oversees the overall functioning of the PTA, presides over meetings, and works closely with other officers to set and achieve PTA goals.
Vice President: The Vice President supports the President and assumes responsibilities in their absence. They may also lead specific projects or committees.
Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for maintaining accurate records of meetings, handling correspondence, and assisting with communication efforts.
Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the PTA's finances, keeps accurate records, and presents financial reports at meetings.
How to Nominate:

We encourage you to attend our upcoming PTA meeting on March 19th at 3:00 pm to learn more about the responsibilities of each position and to ask any questions you may have.
Your involvement in the PTA is instrumental in creating a positive and supportive school environment. We look forward to welcoming new leaders to our PTA family.
Thank you for your consideration and commitment to our school community.
Counselor Corner
We are excited to focus on Courage this month! One way to think about Courage is “choosing what is helpful, right, and kind even when it is hard or scary.” While practicing Courage this month, students will be focusing on flexible thinking. Students will work on their ability to adapt to new situations and challenges by finding multiple solutions to different problems.
