Shabazz Connections
November 2019
Letter to Shabazz Students and Parents
As some of you may know (some may not), I'm the school counselor here at Shabazz, but I'm also a psychotherapist and see clients on a part time basis at a local clinic. I have decided to pursue that work full time, and have put in my notice that my last day will be in January. I came to Shabazz as a student teacher with Denise 11 years ago, and had always hoped that I would return. I was fortunate enough to have that opportunity last year. In that time, I have met some phenomenal students, adults, educators, and administrators. The decision to leave was not easy, but I am excited for this new adventure.
Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this community, and I hope to continue to support Shabazz as a parent of a current student.
Sincerely,
Katy

Things Juniors Should do...
Juniors met as a group to go over the Junior Conference Action Plan. We talked about setting up for a successful Senior year, things to start planning for, documenting experiences, and researching careers, schools, etc. Guardians who would like to a one on one conversation can contact Katy to set up an appointment.
Students should consider future audiences when they fill out their evaluations! Schools, even years down the line, will request your evaluations to determine eligibility. Write with that in mind!
