What Will We Be Learning This Week?
Math
We have had a great start with decimals! Students have learned to properly read and write decimals. They are now learning to compare decimals. Next week they will be adding/subtracting decimals and working in Fraction and Decimal centers practicing their new skills.
Science
The Rocks and Minerals unit has begun. Students have learned the difference between a rock and a mineral, have practiced observing rocks, and have learned to properly record what they have observed. Next week we will discuss specific rock and mineral properties.

Grandfather Mountain Field Trip
Just another reminder that you must have a background check on file in our front office if you would like to chaperone our Grandfather Mountain field trip on April 12th. Background checks are good for 2 years from the time of approval, and I am finding that some of your checks have expired. To check to see if your background check is current, please email Debbie Meyers at Deborah_Meyers@catawbaschools.net or call her in the front office at 466.7065. If you would like a form to have a check completed, let Ms. Ellis know and we will send an application home with your child. This takes several weeks to process, so please fill one out as soon as possible!
