Patriot's Pointe
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope everyone has had some much needed rest and relaxation with friends and family. As a reminder, we will collectively engage in the viewing of the solar eclipse tomorrow afternoon during 7th period. More information regarding the viewing of the solar eclipse can be found here.
Parents, we will need your help this week as our students return to school and to warmer weather. As a reminder, we need your support on the following items outlined in the Code of Conduct:
- Dress Code: Many of our students will have a desire to report to school wearing their spring/summer attire. Parents, now that school is back in session, we are asking for your help and support of the Fayette County Code of Conduct. Please take a look at what your student has on before leaving the house and be mindful of the following:
- Holes in pants/jeans should not expose any part of the thigh or upper leg. Holes below the knee are fine but not above the knee.
- Undergarments must be worn under clothing at all times
- Catsuits/bodysuits are not permitted
- Hats, hoods, sunglasses are not to be worn in the building at any time for any reason unless there is medical/religious documentation on file with the school
- Shorts, skirts, and dresses must have a hemline that meets the fingertips
- Pants/shorts must be worn at the waistline and not expose any skin or undergarments
- Crop tops/mid-drift shirts may not be worn
- Shirts/tops must cover the shoulders (no spaghetti straps, tank tops, halter tops, etc.).
- Sleepwear is not permitted at any time, for any reason (pajama pants/bottoms, pajama tops, blankets, onesies, slippers/bedroom shoes/house shoes)
Parents we really need your support with the dress code and we will be calling home to request a change of clothes if the guidelines are not followed. We know that you are all busy in the mornings but please take a few minutes to review your student's attire before leaving home. I have attached the 2023-2024 FCBOE Code of Conduct for your convenience and review.
Our students and teachers are gearing up for EOPA/EOC/AP/IB testing. We cannot stress the importance of on-time arrival to school and full attendance each day. Teachers have been identifying areas of strengths and opportunities with all of our students and will be capitalizing on the next few weeks to provide instructional support where needed. Parents, here is how you can help to support your scholar at home. We are providing you with a host of 2024 EOC Resources that your scholar can review at home. These resources contain the blueprint, assessment guide, and achievement level descriptors for each tested subject: Algebra Concepts and Connections, American Literature, Biology, and U.S. History. We encourage you to have your student utilize the example and practice problems as a guideline for what to expect on each assessment. Additional details on AP/IB/EOPA testing will be provided by those teachers.
Last week the nation celebrated and recognized the outstanding Assistant Principals who support our students and teachers each day! If you have not done so, please join me in celebrating our AMAZING Assistant Principals at Sandy Creek! Congratulations are in order for our 2024 Prom Queen, Naja Blanding and Prom King, Jace Campbell! Our prom was a safe and successful event and our students really turned out dressed to impress! Our Fine Arts students displayed their talents during our Fine Arts Diploma Seal Showcase right before Spring Break! Congratulations to our seniors for an outstanding performance! Please come out this week to support our Varsity Baseball team as they play to clinch the Region on Tuesday against Carver. Our red hot Soccer team will match up against Hampton on Thursday night at home.
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

Friends and Family Sponsorship
We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.
Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. Please view the information attached about the sponsorship and digital scoreboard.
We would like to recognize our FIRST Family Sponsor, The Harvey Family! The Harvey Family has donated $1,000 to our scoreboard fundraiser and we are hoping you can match or double their contribution soon! Who will be next to accept the challenge????
Corporate Sponsorship
SCHS hopes that your company would be interested in becoming a premier sponsor for our digital scoreboard program! Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 6, 2024. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
